Heard about this earlier in the afternoon when it was just a 'he's had a head injury' story and didn't give it too much thought.
A few minutes ago I switched on BBC news and heard his condition had deteriorated and he was now critical.
Rootin' for you Schumi.

Re: Why do Scottish drivers have a saltire on the side of ca
Can't say it bothers me one way or another, but it'll be interesting to see if Di Resta becomes 'British' in the eyes of the media if he ever wins anything, like Andy Murray did. As a Scot, it was quite funny listening to sports reports about Murray's career over the last few years, he was going to ...

When we get independence you'll see a Saltire above the podium.

Every race me and a bunch of mates get together to make an afternoon of it. Bacon rolls & cups of tea are plentiful and a good time is had by all.

Re: The penalty system and stewarding really irritates me
The thing about the stewarding decisions that p1sses me off is the lack of consistency in the time scale of dealing with cases. One driver can 'cause an avoidable incident' with another and get a drive through 10 minutes later while another can get investigated after the race for a similar incident ...

Re: Podium booing
....when he disobeyed his team order to stay put. Seb fans will no doubt disagree, but that's why he gets booed. I don't remember anyone (apart from maybe the odd small group of nutters) ever booing any other drivers before that, it's the only reason they do now. I could maybe have put that better,...

Re: Has the manners of the fans decreased over the years?
Yaaay, another thread about drivers getting booed. :uhoh: I can just about remember Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill race, does my opinion count? Yes I think the manners of F1 fans has deteriorated over the years because the manners of everyone has deteriorated over the years. People, whether individu...

Re: Podium booing
I don't buy the "It's because the same guy is winning all the time" stuff. I don't remember Schumacher getting booed as he lifted WDC 5,6 & 7 for Ferrari. Plenty of drivers have been dominant in the sport over the years and haven't got booed, this is a very recent thing that Vettel has brought on hi...

Maybe Mercedes have taken a leaf out of Lamborghini & Audi's book and let the the Germans do the engineering while the Italians do the brochure, after a nice lunch.

I'm surprised they haven't started sponsorship of the corners in some tracks.

Re: Will Webber screw Vettel over?
I don't see him doing anything as dangerous as deliberately crashing into him to screw Vettel over, but I can imagine his car will have 'radio trouble' if CH asks him to move out the way.

Re: Romour: Mercedes-Benz has 100HP more than rivals
If Mercedes had 100bhp more than everyone else, no-one would see what way they went off the start line.
It would be like having KERS active the whole time, they'd be so much faster than the rest it wouldn't be a race.

Re: Ken Block's Gymkhana five: San Francisco
OK, so yes it looks very impressive and no I couldn't do it but all the same I can't help thinking he got 'found out' by his failed attempt at the WRC.
He's very good when he can practise on familiar territory but he doesn't have the innate skill that a racing driver has IMO.

Done.
Like the others I don't really think how well or otherwise a team does on Sunday has any bearing on the road cars. Maybe Enzo was right 50 years ago, but I don't think it applies today.

Re: Formula 1 with no limits
If you removed the caps on Engines, you would just get teams running new engines in new sessions. Especially the richer teams. F1 can't really afford to increase spending again, several teams have had rumoured financial troubles, if spending increased again, I fear we might loose several teams Prob...

Re: Formula 1 with no limits
I think F1 could disappear up its own backside if it were totally unlimited but I do think there are far too many rules under the dubious guise of 'green-ness' or money saving that need binned. Let's see a return to an hour's unlimited qualifying, using as many sets of tyres as they like. Remove the...

Re: Sky Coverage v BBC Coverage
FWIW here's my 2p worth. I watch the Sky only races on Sky (obviously) but if a race is on the BBC that's what I watch it on. I far prefer the Beeb's more measured approach. Sky have done with F1 what they do with all their sports and that's chuck big bucks at it and go for presentation over content...

Re: Difference between understeer and cornering too quickly
Understeer is hitting the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is hitting the wall with the back of the car.
Power is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
