Re: Should Alonso go?

To be fair I don't recall Alonso blaming Renault for crashgate, but didn't he accuse them of trying to sabotage him at one point? Can't remember exactly but that does stick in the mind. There are also accusations of attempted blackmail at McLaren. Don't know how true they are but it's more mud to s...

I was happy about that. I think Dan could have taken the place had if Max moved over for both of them. And with that Dan secures 3rd in the championship. A good effort to be best of the rest. Am I the only one who thinks the whole moving under braking rule was created because people (Verstappen mai...

Another disguised "Alonso is the best" thread. Please tell us how many mechanical problems or strategy blunders/pit stop errors Alonso has suffered during his time at Ferrari compared to his rivals? With the reliability of today, he would have been nowhere in 2010/2012. Vettel is a proven winner an...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2016 Mexican Grand Prix

Sorry, but I am simply amazed that Verstappen has as many votes as Hulkenberg. I can't understand it at all. Verstappen made a poor move at the start and forced Rosberg off. He then made another poor overtake on Vettel, ignoring his teams advice to give the place back. Pretty poor performance and m...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2016 Japanese Grand Prix

In my view, the dotd will be the driver who had a perfect race. Going from 2nd to 8th after the start is substantially less than perfect. Wrong team calls re pit stops by Ferrari harmed both their drivers. Given that it can only be Verstappen or Rossberg who both did very well, but as Rossberg won ...

Well that is a huge present for Rosberg (to go with all the rest) Not that I'm a Hamilton fan but Rosberg simply doesn't deserve the drivers championship. He'll very likely take the 2016 title on luck and dodgy driving. Shame Bullroar... If Nico ends up winning this WDC, he will have earned it. If ...

Re: Alonso says he was ordered to stay behind Jenson Button

According to the article below Button had a new front wing in Spain while Alonso did not. It's possible this may have contributed to Button's better pace: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/technical-analysis-mclaren-s-updates-in-detail-737970/ I think Button had it all week-end and yet failed to ou...

Re: Rosberg V Hamilton Crash Debate/Poll [MERGED]

If they stated that Lewis was significantly along side, then Nico has to be punished. I disagree with that. They have enough leeway to decide that even though Hamilton was significantly alongside Rosberg (therefore Rosberg technically broke the rule), it wasn’t deliberate or flagrant enough to warr...

While I agree with you in general, Hamilton did better than Alonso in the opening rounds of 2007. Admittedly it's been a while since 2007, but I double checked and Alonso outqualified Hamilton in the first two rounds and beat him by at least 15 seconds both times - how did Hamilton outperform him? ...

@Gothnak yes they do ... We have TPs going on record saying that that solution was not viable and it would have been highly unsafe, yet people on here just dismiss that? On what grounds? Just one more thing on this - couldn't they have, e.g., used a speed limiter on one section on the track? Would such a thing have been ha...

Re: Will Alonso get fed up with the underperforming Mclaren?

I've no doubt that Alonso will get fed up with the poor Mclaren, but at the end of the day its his fault that he is in this position IMO. He had a WDC capable car in '07, but fell out with them so badly that he had to go back to Renault. To make things worse, teams had realised from '07 that it was...

a few considerations: - back in 07 Alonso was a 2-time champ (still is) and Hamilton had never been on an F1 car - Alonso should have had Ham's numbers on experience alone (I won't even go into the fact that Alonso got beaten at tracks that Hamilton saw on Friday for the first time) - unfortunately...

Probably the difference to Alonso here is that at Ferrari he was still under pressure to get results, even though the car was not up to it. The world, and Mchonda seem to accept that he just go out and drive in this car. If he achieves, wonderful, if not, well it was expected. This stress relief ma...
