Re: Calling it now: Hamilton's records will never be broken
If the new rules work then no, no-one will come close and F1 may well get split into 2 eras much like tennis when talked about in the future because the era's differ so greatly. If they don't work and we still get dominant cars for extended periods then with the ever expanding calendar and what i ex...

Re: Stefano Domenicali replaces Chase Carey as F1 CEO
So 3 ex-Ferrari employees are now at in the top 3 positions in motorsport. Hmmm.... That said, Todt is expected to step down in 2021, so maybe there is hope for us yet. Brawn was more recently a Mercedes employee do not forget. However he didn't exactly leave Mercedes on good terms. Neither did SD,...

Re: Renault re-branding to Alpine for next season!
Yeah I thought for sure they'd go blue and yellow because of all those connections but they're going red, white and blue so oh well. We'll still hear plenty of Renault talk because of the engine so I can see why if they were going to remain then they may as well push a sports car brand they want more...

Re: Its Official: Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin in 2021 (merged)
Assuming the 3 teams stay roughly where they are then the lead midfield is going to be pretty sweet to watch... Vettel vs Ricciardo vs Alonso vs Norris vs Ocon. And if Ferrari can make a semi decent step with the engine then we can add Leclerc and Sainz into the mix on a regular basis as I'm sure th...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 Italian Grand Prix
Easy pick for Sainz but the man has no luck. Quietly having a great season. How do you see Charles Sainz going against Charlie Leclerc? I think Leclerc will have too much for him over a season in both sessions but closer to the Merc situation rather than RB's. Close but clear to pinch a Boxing phra...

Rumours on another forum are that Renault will be rebranded Alpine-Renault or something along those lines with their current DP World sponsor and next years car will be blue and yellow and that we may see Alonso and Ocon driving outside of F1 for Alpine somewhere too. Already confirmed is Alpine bra...

Not that it matters, it was a Honda year as Newgarden found out so the win was never on whether he bins it in practice or not or whether his clutch failed or not. Re: 2020 Indy 500
The bottom line is it's clutching at straws saying that Alonso beat last year's winner when he got pushed into the outside wall and had to pit with damage. Alonso being slow started the week previous, how can his car be slow and his 2 rookie teammates car's be quicker? It's not clutching at staws, ...

From the BBC article: "Under this system, Ferrari last year earned about an additional $110m (about £84m), Mercedes and Red Bull more than $70m, McLaren about $30m and Williams $10m. Essentially we know they didn't design the RBD, a rival constructor did, so on what basis are RP eligible for prize money this year in the WCC if we're all agreed they are running a part they were supposed to do themselves or through a 3rd party but did not? You can reasonably argue not being able ...

So not salty at all, they were right, the RBD are illegal for RP to run this year because they didn't design them at all unlike they initially claimed. The FIA just can't stop them running them anyway without excessively draconian (Fire entire design team and provide fresh design) or potentially dan...

Re: He's back.. BBC reporting Alonso has signed for Renault
I read it's a 3 year deal which I'm a bit surprised about but with where Renault are,the additions of his Ferrari friends in Fry and De Beer to go along with Budkowski and with the Budget Cap coming in I guess it makes sense for lack of any top 3 interest to think slightly longer term. I hope Renaul...
