Re: Sebastian Vettel to leave Ferrari at end of season
Apparently Bild are reporting that Vettel will be driving the 2020 Mercedes next year at the expense of Perez who has a clause that his contract has a pay to end clause so long as it is triggered by July 31st. Re: How would people feel about over-the-winter seasons?
I like it.
However what I think will happen is there will be no races until the summer, Canada, Britain or France. Start the season then and if there is only 10 races in 2020 instead of 22 so be it.
2021 hopefully back to normal starting in Melbourne.

I reckon its been way too long since the format was changed for a F1 weekend.
For a start there is no need for 3 Practice sessions.

Re: Sprint races in 2020
This, for me, is the most baffling thing about F1. There are issues/weaknesses within F1. The lack of competitive balance, the difficulty in following closely behind another car, the out of control budgets, etc. F1 seems to have very little problem identifying it's areas where improvement is needed...

Re: Sprint races in 2020
What I'd like (and have been suggesting since at least 2015) is that they should mix up the weekends a bit as I don't see why they need to be identical to each format-wise. I'd welcome having a sprint race replace the quali in some of the weekends and keeping a conventional quali in the rest. We ha...

Re: Sprint races in 2020
Qualifying in the present format is PERFECT. Ok, it would be if there wasn't such a large gap between the cars, but in theory the top 10 shootout is as good as you can get. I have no idea what they are playing at. If anything, do we really need 3 practice sessions that are pretty worthless? They cou...

Re: Max Verstappen - 2021 Team?
His best bet is sticking with Red Bull until at least end of 2021. He will have a full season to assess how each team has done with the new regs. He could move to Merc and it turns out their car is a dog and he is pretty much snookered. Red Bull have at least had a car that has won races for 10 year...

Re: F3 Monza Crash - all seems OK though.
For all the clever clogs they have in F1, sometimes it staggers me how the blatantly obvious is never looked at. Diggers beyond the barriers lifting cars - there is no point having tyre barriers etc when the tractor is before it. A few near misses - Brundle 1994 in Japan, Hamilton 2007 at Nuburgring...

He seems a broken man.
I would not be the least bit surprised if he chucked it at the end of the season.
Which would be a crying shame as he is still a talented driver. Being team leader at a constantly failing Ferrari wont be easy either for him.

It is seriously depressing how dominate they are.
The sport is dying because of it (well one of the reasons)
Yet, you cannot help admire them for being so consistent in getting everything right.
Unless they make a rubbish car on purpose the rest cannot catch up.

Lets say there is 1bn in prize money or whatever.
It should be split evenly between 10 teams.
100m each.
The end.
It shouldn't even be a discussion.
If teams like Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren don't like it, then tough.

Glad they have something else to show on the channel now.
With each passing year, there is less and less 'new content' on it.
Must be a couple of years since they made anything for it, except the live races.

As far as I remember, Max Mosley had tried to get a budget cap in place.
This was used to attract the 4 new teams (USF1 never got off the ground).
Unsurprisingly in F1, there was no budget gap. And the new teams never stood a chance.
