Re: Mercedes W13 revealed!
Man, if this design works then hats off to whoever was in charge of this design. I have my doubts though. Obviously I read on twitter, so not sure what to make of it, but there are tweets that teams may oppose the new design and get it disapproved. Innovation should be rewarded, not punished, becau...

So since McLaren have withdrawn even if the race goes ahead no points will be awarded, is that right? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/51849163 If a team was prohibited from racing, it would be a non championship race. I mean come on, it's not like one of the Ferrari drivers is managed by somebody who's dad happens to work fairly high up in the FIA is it..

I'd like to hope they haven't been doing anything dodgy. It did seem strange though how both Ferrari's struggled off the line and had a race pace inconsistent with the second half of the year.

Re: Unpopular opinions (2019)
Even in the worst case scenario where a driver has time for a free stop and does it only to get the fastest lap, it's still better than the alternative where exactly nothing happens. Better in what way though. It's not like the director suddenly focuses in on it. We tend to just see the mark appear...

Re: Ferrari team orders in Russia
I think that as soon as Ferrari discussed their "plans", Seb had one thing in mind - he was ALWAYS going to say "I just got a good start so I deserve to stay here", regardless of whether it was true or not. I also can't help but feel that Seb thrashed his car so much to build a gap, that it contribu...

Re: Following Singapore, which team will win the most races?
Voted Merc. The slow lap times to allow Ferrari to stretch the stop, coupled with multiple late safety cars meant they didn't suffer the tyre deg they often get. Spa - one more lap Lewis probably would have won. Italy - if the stewards hadn't bottled it Lewis probably would have won (or at least a M...

If it was almost anywhere but Singapore, Charles wouldn't have been able to back everyone up.
Lewis would probably have won through better tyre life.
Some strange strategy calls, and it wasn't a classic race, but the Ferrari driver dynamic will be very interesting in the coming races.

Re: 2019 Singapore Grand Prix Race Thread
Good to see Vettel win a race, payback perhaps for what happened in Monza in respect to Leclerc, also we see just how much the Mercedes strategy team rely on having the fastest car and uncomplicated races. I don't think they did that bad a job. They risked a podium trying to get a win and it didn't...

Re: 2019 Italian Grand Prix Race Thread
The underlying problem is that the officiating is heavily influenced by fan and media reaction, which in turn is heavily influenced by WHO is getting the penalty and not WHY they are getting it. I think this is true. The stewards have a well known (and a times documented, see Spa 2012) tendency tow...

I would much rather see Russell in the seat than either Bottas or Ocon. We’ve seen more than enough of Bottas to know that he will never seriously challenge Hamilton. Ocon was barely any better than Perez in his third season of F1. He deserves to be on the grid but I just don’t rate him that highly...

It seemed so earlier in the year, but maybe it's track specific. The tyre situation has an impact as well I feel - drivers are scared to sit too "close" for too long.

As a Lewis fan:
I didn't want Vettel to get a penalty, and I think it was harsh that he did, but I can see the stewards thought process behind why he got one.
I also don't think Max deserved one at Japan.
I cannot understand how Ricciardo didn't at least get investigated for weaving.
