Re: 2019 German Grand Prix Race Thread
Max with a great season this year! Really nice to see the Red Bull - Honda alliance off to a good start. And loved Honda Racing’s social media jab at Alonso. #neverforget Didn’t see the Albon / Gasly incident but saw the rest of the race and most of the year and I am pleasantly surprised by Albon an...

I hope! Started following Charles on Facebook in early 2016 in hopes he would one day sit in the red car. And now he's here and shining bright so far! It's got to be strange times at Ferrari for the employees. On one hand, you have a 4x WDC who absolutely adored your company and wants to win for you...

Re: Who is the most underrated driver on the 2019 grid?
I would say Stroll overall. When Stroll came into the sport, did anyone expect him to be fast or keep it on the road based on his credentials and reason for getting a seat? In that regard, I think he's been criminally underrated. He's generally had a decent set of hands, and it seems the car is far ...

Ditto! Started watching Australia 2003 and the only race I missed from then to about 2014 was Hungary 2006. Judging by my user name, you can imagine why I was irate at that.KingVoid wrote:I have horrible luck. Almost every single race I ever miss turns out to be a classic or at least a memorable race.

Kimi for having actual military service where he probably learned a few tricks to choke people out. Ricciardo for some relatively useful martial arts for a street brawl. Hulk for size. Timing of this thread is very fitting to me - I had this same thought after Hamilton's 1st lap of Q3. I cheer for and respect both drivers, and have been cheering Seb on to deliver Ferrari a title, but I always did feel the following: Are they equal talents or is Hamilton slightly better? I never ac...

1. Good to see Lewis' full reversal on Kimi's driving since his red mist comments from the British GP about Kimi's side-by-side racing. The guy has never intentionally hit another driver in F1. Ever. The closest thing may have been Perez during the Lotus years. 2. Anyone else think Kimi lingered a b...

Re: Max is Out-Performing Daniel (Believe it or Not)
Exediron possibly meant a slump in pace relative his teammate? With no stats to back it up, my initial gut feeling is that was true. But that doesn't mean Ricciardo didn't rack up points like a fiend during that stretch - it's psossible to lack pace to a teammate but still have pace / reliability / ...

RPM killed those 2004 engines. 100%. Loved hearing their sound. But rpm is far harder on connecting rods, cylinder sleeves, and pistons than torque. These current ICEs we're always more reliable on paper even in new regulations and development. I love all F1 tech though so I've been pretty indiffere...

I know Kimi has been off pace a few times (v. a 4x WDC the team is putting all resources behind) but how on Earth does he have the same or similar ranking as Kyvat - who has been off pace easily as much and has caused his own teammate's retirement twice on the first lap - in some of these?! I can't believe anyone is arguing on behalf of Vettel in this situation. The fact that some people are arguing about a drop in speed of ~10kph as something a 4x WDC, 10 year veteran can't account for and blaming it on the leader, who controls the speed and was dismissed of all sanctions, is asinine....

Re: Rate the drivers, with a twist
I think you can not compare drivers best seasons because sadly, perception(public, media) make this exercise futile. For example people love the underdog story and would rate a slower but bulletproof car(Ferrari 2012) higher than a very fast but fragile car(McLaren/RedBull 2012). The "biggest" inju...

Is the Honda Indy Car engine made in Japan or the US? If the US, then the chances that this improvement means good things for F1 is limited at best. IIRC, it's designed and built by Honda of America, which is primarily American engineers. I think it has little correlation to Honda of Japan's F1 pet...

Dan is more polished and tested on paper due to beating a 4x WDC so I have to choose him. Though Kubica looked to be developing further into his own in 2010 before his accident. Pirelli's circus tyres and Ferrari's ongoing inability to cater for Räikkönen's driving preferences , will keep Kimi in second place in the scuderia, I'm afraid.
