Re: Saving F1
1. The installation of charging points is indeed lagging somewhat, in particular for homes without a driveway or a designated parking spot. That problem does not have to be solved by 2035, because at that point only new vehicles will be EV only. The existing fleet will probably drive around until 2...

Re: Drive to Survive
I found last season rather boring. I'm at episode 6 currently but, really, a boring DTS season, full of the typical hype and the annoying F1 specialist/commentator that they feature in all seasons. Whatshisname? WILL BUXTON. He's the worst thing in DTS. I can't stand Buxton. Most annoying guy in th...

Re: 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
Curious how you know that the sensor was not faulty? Regardless, sensors do fail, and yet the rules do not provide any leway to penalize a car when they do. That is wrong. I don't, but no news has come out about it. I don't think it is wrong taking the human element out and instead relying on techn...

Yes I actually just saw this as well - he was moving when lights went out 100% should have been a penalty regardless of if he decided to stop momentarily again afterwards. That even makes it worse then, the sensors are not fit for purpose. All sensors have a +/- tolerance - just like everything els...

He came to a complete stop again after the initial movement. So no rolling start. I thought the post-race analysis on F1TV showed that he was moving when the lights went off? Re: 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
I think I heard someone saying this is Lewis' worst start to the season since he entered the sport Controversial opinion, but perhaps as Lewis is leaving the team this year they are putting all their effort into George now, same as they did for Nico in 2016. They put all their efforts into Nico in ...

Re: 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
You can just use both surely. It's a bit ridiculous not to penalise a driver everyone very clearly saw move just because the sensor said he didn't. Although I could definitely see an argument for not penalising the sort of thing Norris did as he gained no advantage and didn't do anything unsafe. so...

Prema and especially Bearman bounced back in a dramatic fashion, that kind of movement from one end of the field to the other (between consecutive race weekends) we don't see in F1.

So Perez, Hamilton, Leclerc and Piastri each have 3 votes to their name, I wonder if they are the same three people voting and if they can share their reasoning? Not gonna happen I guess.

How about an inversed DRS; instead of (or in addition to) opening the DRS flap when close enough on straights, have a mechanism for increasing wing angles when close enough on the twisty parts :D Reverting to 2009 in a way? I wonder whether that solution was ever properly evaluated. Although I stil...

Interesting data, thanks. Regarding Russell, I'm curious why the graph looks like George should be ahead, while your conclusion is that Lewis is (quite clearly) ahead? Shame Perez has missed Q3 so many times, I'm guessing that Max will not have been pushing as hard in Q2 (why should he?) so the comparison to Perez may be skewed if/when not only counting the time Perez did make it to Q3. Should be like for like. 140 is still decent all things considered (and comparing to any alternatives I have) but the increase in percentage is quite dramatic nonetheless.

Not really important but that transcript that is referred to as ‘an interview in 2015’ isn’t actually an interview from 2015. Matt Bishop did an article recently in which he recounted a conversation he had with Lewis in 2015 (the conversation you can see in the tweet) which he had not previously sh...

Could Antonelli suffer Vandoorne's fate if he's fast tracked to F1? Has someone followed both of their junior careers and can comment how they compare? IIRC Vandoorne was not nearly as young as Antonelli would be next year.
