Re: Did China answer the Vettel question?
Mate, I understand what you mean. I said this earlier as well.. You can't please everyone. Same with Vettel. But, he had to go for that strategy because of his poor qualifying and start. What he made out of it was brilliant, but he put himself in that position. I'm his fan too, just like I'm adaman...

Re: Did China answer the Vettel question?
I think there's something you need to accept, not just as a driver, but also as a fan. You just can't please them all. I don't want to sound like some Einstein, but back in '05 and '04, a lot of fans would say that Schumacher could not pass. He only knew how to overtake in the pits which was absolu...

Re: Did China answer the Vettel question?
I don't know what to make of Vettel's drive. On the plus side: - Moved from 11th to the grid to 5th in the race - Had good race strategy - Finished ahead of other drivers on a 2 stop strategy except Rosberg On the down side - Lost a lot of places at start - Lost 3 places in the closing laps - Unabl...

Re: You can hire 1 driver from current grid: who do you choo
I imagine I want to keep this driver for a few years. It's a mid-field team. I can't imagine Alonso is the way to go, personally. I'd go either Hamilton, Webber or Rosberg. They've all had experience in awful cars and haven't spat the dummy. As I couldn't pick which one, I'd beat di Montezemolo to ...

Re: You can hire 1 driver from current grid: who do you choo
Obviously the criteria for selection must be the ability to obtain points towards the drivers' championship. Thus, despite my allegiance to Mark Webber, I'd have to go with Alonso . This is a no-brainer. He is the best driver of his generation. Like the lion of the jungle, his status cannot be ques...

Re: You can hire 1 driver from current grid: who do you choo
Everybody seems to pick Fernando saying how consistantly quick he is, all we know is how weak his team mates have been and when he did have a quick team mate he was beaten, this myth that Fernando is the greatest is a little blinkered imho. It's not his speed that makes him the logical choice. Even...

Re: Did China answer the Vettel question?
There were two stories I was watching last night. 1) Could Kobash get a podium: we all saw how that turned out unfortunately. And 2) can Vettel pass, or as his critics suggest, only lead races. Personally, since I started this thread, Ill have to say that I leaned towards the latter but had not mad...

I voted for Schumacher. However, I don't know what my budget is and how long I'm looking to hire someone. There are a lot of other factors involved. If you tell me, here, you have 50 million dollars, sign me someone for the next 5 years. I would without a shadow of a doubt hire Button. Reasons? 1) H...

I see some people here are cheering him on to win a race before he is done for good. I've followed Schumacher since 1994, and if I know him, he will have a detailed idea of why Rosberg was so much faster than he was, prepare to the nth degree and come back stronger. He may or may not race beyond thi...

I think the whole 'unpredictability' thing is being blown out of proportion. I for one, fully expected it to be McLaren vs Mercedes on the front two rows. Kobayashi, I expected to see in the top 10, specially after his performance in Q1. No real surprises for me other than seeing Vettel out of it. W...

I was on board the Nico Rosberg lap yesterday, in qualifying on full HD, with Karun Chandok doing commentary and I must say, that was as flawless a lap as I've seen, in my near two decades of watching. I don't really want to get into 'who's' fault is was when they were racing. It happened, it happened. I don't understand the issue people are having with Vettel's reaction? He's human and he can express himself. I don't have an issue with Narain's reply either. The FIA should shut up and stop handin...

He is absolutely the best in F1 right now! I dont think anyone cant handle a high pressure situation like today (or like Singapore 2010) and somehow make it look effortless! Even if Perez kept on him, the way he saved KERS to cancel out Perez's DRS had me convinced he would have stayed ahead! His r...
