Re: BREAKING NEWS... Michael Masi Removed As Race Director
Big picture, Masi will be ok. But what happened to him is quite unreasonable. First, all of you Hamilton diehards (I like Hamilton) really need to pull your head in. The petulance is off the charts. At no point do you accept that Mercedes failed Hamilton by refusing to see what was obvious, and pit...

Re: Will Verstappen and Hamilton collide at Abu Dhabi?
The FIA have been WEAK beyond belief. Incompetent. In any other sport there would be resignations. Max literally said 'how is it not wrong in Brazil but it's wrong here?' Think about that statement properly for a second. The FIA had sanctioned blatant dangerous and unsportsmanlike (cheating) driving...

Re: The Official Lewis Hamilton thread
I think most of the mature and objective fans accept that team orders are part of the sport. IMO Lewis and Vettel should 100% be given priority by their teams as they are in a title fight. The others are not. I fully understand the last race from a team point of view (not necessarily mine, but that'...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
It's a complex and grey area which unfortunately FIA don't always spell out properly in detail to audiences/fans. But when defending you should leave room. You cannot force a driver into the wall or off track. Obviously their positions relative to each other, the part of the track or even straight t...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
It was a move in one direction. But more than one, and the second one was quite too far (and this is the contentious part). There was no room. Part of Lewis was already off track and that would have for sure led to a crash if he didn't back up at the last possible second. Vettel himself has admitted...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
Some very shabby logic here. Lewis passed Vettel into a corner, after a very minor mistake (which Vettel admitted) gave him an opening to gain using drs. Please see again how Lewis gained on Bottas on the opening lap after a poor start and very nearly passed by Vettel. He caught up and pulled alongs...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
Pretty damning evidence for Vettel, he is lucky this error has been overshadowed by the team orders Yes, its funny how the headlines change. All the talking and headlines would have been about Mercedes not using team orders and Hamilton ending up behind Vettel in P3. Then once Vettel made his error...

Re: 2018 Japanese Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thre
Ferrari were just fine in Silverstone. I think they'll be OK. If they don't perform I don't think it will be because of track layout. I think they did a lot of work on this type of scenario, which was somewhat of a weakness for them last year

I can hear the boos on the podium already That's one side of an Italian F1 crowd. For the other side just tune into the 1990 race when race leader Senna has an engine blow and spins on his own oil at Parabolica. Return of the king - not a track with the low thickness tyres, not a particular Mercedes track, even a weak Hamilton track.. yet Bottas 0.300 up on Vettel. Mercedes are back! Mercedes have had some pretty big upgrades, but tbh the cars look pretty equal apart from S3, where the Mercs are clearly fa...

Starting second, assuming there's no incident and you run to order, costs you 7 points. Crashing out on the first lap repeatedly, your car breaking down and you ripping off people's diffuser and playing Mario Kart at races costs you well over 80 points. Just saying

Just a thought... Why not Nico Hulkemberg? He's missing something? Yes, a top car? He's fast, he's German. He's steady if that's what you want. He's experienced. And in a top car could turn out to be a top contender also who knows. At the very worst he'll be a more than capable second driver. He wil...

Re: 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thr
Honestly after watching all this season, it's hard for me to say which is the better engine. It's so close, set up, amount of downforce (drag), track layout, tyre in working range, so many things influence it. I've seen races where Ferrari were faster in the so called 'power sectors', and vice versa...

Not over but it is of course now not looking good.Realistically it will need Lewis to have misfortune. And that could equally happen to Seb or anyone else as well. There was also a radiator damage and likely other serious damage for Seb's engine or gearbox as well which could impact the next race. W...

Alonso is a great driver, but from time to time his temper is ridiculous. How well would Hamilton or Vettel act if they were flailing around in 15th place every single race? They'd probably make sure their next career move was in their own best interest. Alonso need to do the exact opposite of what...
