How are they nervous? Sounds like a healthy concern, naturally they dont want to give too much info to Honda. They don't want to, sure, but it is Mercedes who controls what they give. How can McLaren change anything in that? Send team of ninja spies to Germany? No, it looks like the only factor McLaren has any influence...

Re: Bernie tips Rosberg for the WDC title '14!
One thing I will say is Hamilton's ability to think strategy is hugely underrated on here. People are making out like he's a 14 year old. No doubting his key strength is in raw speed but he's still up there with the best of them otherwise. Last season's problem was his car's complete lack of race pa...

I hate to say it (and you must have known it was coming) but testing doesn't show us who is quickest. If anything, it shows us who has the most reliable car. It doesn't really show us anything at all as the evidence is far too light and it is far too early. But on the evidence we have... Basically ...

Mercedes knows McLaren won't be much of a problem this year between the title and Mercedes GP due to the same Engine power system. Button's thinks that this year F1 cars won't be much faster than GP2. http://grandprix247.com/2014/02/05/button-well-be-quicker-than-gp2-but-not-that-much-quicker/ Now, ignoring the sensationalist headline, does this not imply that McLaren were going flat out (or very near to it) at Jerez? It's already in a team's interest to be as efficient as possible. More fuel carried = more weight which is a disadvantage. But imposing arbitrary limits has no real sporting value and is IMO simple a gesture designed to impress the gullible about F1's green credentials. I fail to see why benefits t...

The fuel regulations aren't about short term speed (or hindering speed). Long term, for the sport to thrive, we want to encourage people in to and it and give them a reason to be there. With road cars heading down an economy route, this gives huge engine development opportunity (both in fuel efficie...

I don't know much about football but I'd say because it doesn't cost £100million+ per season to run a football team. The TV money will be more than sufficient to cover their running costs and they tend to have billionaire owners to pump money in as and when. Maybe I'm talking out of my donkey, but ...

On the side note. @Adaemus, I didn't say it wouldn't happen, I just said it shouldn't, let's leave it there shall we ;) I don't understand why not though. The idea of testing is to give your drivers relatively equal time in the car - that is why they tend to divide it in to 2 days each to begin with. If your testing...

My single hope for this season is the double points doesn't make a single bit of difference. I don't think even the WDC who wins through it will be quite as happy as normal, there's going to be some sheepishness and explaining themselves.

In simple terms Kimi prefers a twitchy front, whilst Alonso prefers a twitchy rear. Will be interesting to see if they try and align them closely setup wise (suspect Alonso would adapt better to this middle ground) or they run what is two very different cars.

I really like it. One of the nicest paint jobs I've seen in recent years (although I do like the black background / bright colour combo generally).
Can't see the nose detail obviously, but at least looks like this season might not be as ugly as we feared.
