Re: 2 seconds slower at Monaco.
The cars may have not as been as fast back in the day but the innovation and development was on fire. 2 seconds in f1 is a long time. Also, I haven't looked but I'm positive they have been in the 1:13s in qualifying at monaco.

2 seconds slower at Monaco.
A bit of a rant here. 1:15.989 for pole position in the new cars. Way slower then high 1:13s we used to see. F1 seems like a fuel economy competition now more than anything. Pulling back development by decreasing allowed downforce and fuel consumption, etc. That is not the pinnacle of racing. I know...

heavier cars in 2014?
I thought I read somewhere that the minimum weight is being increased next year. With v6 engines And less fuel shouldn't it decrease? Why are they trying to slow these cars down? Is it to accommodate the new kers system which provides a bigger boost for longer compared to current setup?

Re: turbo v6 engines another nail in the coffin?
Thanks for the replies. I do remember that Eccelstone did hold off the v6's for an additional year. They were oringinaly supposed to come in last year I think. But he still has to sign off on it. That 89' GP that had the v12's with less power is an interesting fact. V6's might be ok in the end. NASC...

Re: Do you like Sebastian Vettel?
Sebastien vettel is great. He is a great ambassador for the sport. I don't know if anyone wants to win as much as him, sometimes that leads him to make foolish decisions but overall he represents the sport very well. Most people don't like him because they are tired of seeing him do so well in his r...

turbo v6 engines another nail in the coffin?
Engines will be down at least 100hp from the current v8 and rpm down to 15000. They'll have 160 hp boost instead of 80 with the kers but that's only for a short time. Cars will be a little lighter and carrying only 100 kg of fuel but will it be enough to stay as fast as current engines? I'm thinking...
