Funny how almost nobody seem to talk about Red Bull. As a Merc fan, I'm equally afriad of them as of Ferrari. Renault doesn't seem that bad, Red Bull will be in the mix (front). Their long runs seem as impressive as Mercedes' and Ferrari's.

Overall looks very tight. What caught my is the sidepost and cooling radiator area, ala RedBull-esque. Extremely slick on that area. Seems like we're in for a treat this year. Let's see what Mercedes have done.Uffman wrote:

Re: 2016 Renault vs. Honda - Battle of the laggards
Last I checked the Honda ICE of last year was superior to the Renault by the middle of the season. I expect them to resolve the troublesome ERS and be close to if not better than Ferrari. I would be shocked if they are not there. Renault, based on what happened last year, seems to have no clue on h...

For some reason, I have that odd feeling that Mercedes will struggle. They've changed their design philosophy for this year car, making it more revolutionary, instead, they'll be struggling to find pace. Ferrari on the other hand, will be the one to beat.

After 40 years + of watching F1 (and never missing a race) I have finally admitted to myself that it is now so boring time has come to move on. We're going a bit off topic here, but I think the reason we all miss F1 is because of the Merc domination and it is totally their fault. I think we can all agree that the best era of Formula 1 and when F1 was it's most exciting and popular was the late 80's. That time too was dominated by one team,...

You have to remember that while those two straights (which add up to about 1.6 km) are the two longest straights on the calendar, they aren't the only two straights where McLaren are losing time to Mercedes. Assuming that there is no acceleration and the above top speeds are constant during the two straights ( wich is roughly about 1.6 km), my rough calculautions say around 1 - 1.2 seconds. If you add acceleration than it becomes more complicated to guess the actual loss, although it would provide a muc...

I geniunly think that next years season will be more exciting. Ferrari did a good job on both the chassis and for sure on the engine side. RBR vs. Mercedes - Wet Pace
The pace of rbr in wet was impressive. Better than Mercs. Does this mean they have a better aero-package or was it all because of the tyres? Initially, Merc drove well until they started to overheat the inters, while RBR was keeping them well within the operating window. Once they were on the slicks...
