Re: Is Ricciardo done?

During the last ten/twelve years how many drivers got a "championship contending car" ? Some happy years four, or else only two. If you don't take into account the obvious subservient n° 2 drivers, it reduces the number to 1 or 2. Such is the state of F1 that I wouldn't bet on any of the current "be...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

I like the way people here discuss the micro-details of driving (I mean it, I really like it, though I very rarely participate - see what follows) just like if any moves made in fractions of seconds were the result of long thinking and well thought decisions... But. But these drivers are may be mad...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

This is the crucial part for me. Even with losing speed when he bumped off Max, Lewis still ended with all four wheels outside the track line, on the kerbs. Which means that he was not going to make the corner 100% cleanly. Edit to mention that this is not for the 2019 incident obviously! Is it rea...

Latifi is 2 years into a 3 year contract.   That's the bit that won't happen. Mazeoin and Latiffi should get together and start a new team named "Billionaire". Yeah that would leave more room for drivers of real talent. :) Only if the Billionaire Team is the 11th on the grid. If the...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

So just asking the question here. Corner speed aside & keeping in mind that at one point Hamilton was virtually level with Verstappen, by how much does this incident differ from Verstappens pass on Leclerc in Austria in 2019? Verstappen was slightly behind going into the corner the same as Hamilton...

If the aim is to mix the cars to get "exciting" overtakes during the first 5 laps until the true order of cars speed and drivers abilities is restored, the best thing is to put 20 lotto pawns with cars numbers on them in a hat and ask the nearest child with an innocent hand (so no one with a parent ...

Re: Sprint Qualifying - first impressions?

Brawn was short of superlatives. He would have been even if the drivers had decided to park the cars by the side of the track after the 3rd lap. So don't worry, whatever the popular or sporting "success" of the tests, whether you want it or not, you'll get sprint "qualies" implemanted.

Imo one of two things will happen 1. RB will fill his head with nonsense which will make him feel wronged. He will implode and either crash off trying to hit back or do something too obviously intentional he will get a ban 2. Quietly RB will address his role in the incident including other incident...

Re: How will Max and Lewis race each other for the rest of the season?

I hope Max returns the favor in the future. Senna vs Prost in the making. I won't discuss the "favor" thing (that implies that he has no responsability at all in what is just an incident but could have been one of the worst accidents of these last years. He was lucky to escape uninjured from an acc...

The only good thing about this is Verstappen being not even injured, which looked unlikely. It could have been far far worse. The opposite side of the medal is that, if the current cars were not so safe, may be a handful of drivers would hesitate before swaggering... Other point is that cars should ...

Whatever happens, they won't ditch the "sprint race", but make it mandadory before long. Looks very Indy car to me. I bet it will drive similar to Indy too, with drivers making a lot of steering corrections all the time. When you couple 1000+hp and less downforce, I bet you're going to see unstable cars. Might be fun to watch. It does look a lot like a modern IndyCar without an aeroscr...

Of course they age... But what I meant is that it's not because Bottas' chassis was new that it was as good as Hamilton's old one or Bottas' previous one when they were "new". Though the building processes have reached an amazing level, 2 chassis are never perfect twins.

I know, it is the weirdest explanation I've read in a while. Hamilton is a sure bet, that's fine, but it is like saying that one driver will definitely do less mileage? And it was planned?
