Re: 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
What a race. Lewis and Max clearly in another league, and I think the young pretender has the slightly better car with which to wage war.... if it stays like this then this season could be all time vintage. Merc still quicker in a straight line though, if they get that rear end tamed, could be busin...

Genuinely gutted.
One of the voices of my childhood, one of the all time great commentators who had seen, knew and done it all and then some. I've missed him since he retired and i'll miss him even more now, the F1 world is immeasurably poorer without his prescence.

Went for the podium. Nice to see Vettel back at the sharp end again. Got a feeling Perez has probably just won the race for the RB seat on the back of that too.
Hamilton was just masterful, what a way to win #7.

I've got a feeling Bottas year could be over by turn 2..... tyre warm up issues on a track like ice while starting slap bang in the middle of the field is a recipe for disaster. Can see more tears for Max too if he gets racey with Stroll at the start.

I really don't know why Giovinazzi gets another year. Shouldn't the same be said about Kimi in that case? Really can't say he's been much better this year. People have given quite a lot of praise to Kimi at times this year, and Giovinazzi is there or there abouts. I think he is at least decent now ...

Throwing a bumper at someone mid race is attempted GBH at best, and the second video it looks like he has a 'friend' join in as well in that brawl. Shameful actions. I've been fairly vocal about Maldonado and Ticktum in the past, but the actions in that first video are probably the most deserving of...

Honda wont be going anywhere in Indy, the new top guy at HPD is a racer through and through and Honda have apparently committed to designing an electrified engine for Indy.

Whilst I dont think Domenicalli is by any stretch a bad choice for the gig (and he's spent the last few years trying to sell a rival supercar to Ferrari) I do think that all the noise about Wolff getting the job from Ferrari will now whiff a bit if they remain silent. The team told him he could do the practice starts where he did them, that mistake is on the team. Quite how you can equate a team error in judgement to Hamilton using his platform as a major sports star, whose fame really does transcend this 'niche sport' to highlight some very real and very serious...

Can't see anything other than a Mercedes walk up front, hoping Sainz and Perez will be able to keep around Max for a bit of actual racing to occur. Can't wait to see the look on Horner and Marko's faces if Mercedes warnings about the engine modes being banned only helping them more come to pass.

I thought we were debating Hamilton's impact on the rise of the Mercedes juggernaut. I think a top five all-time ranking is pretty much a given at this point, but how I rate Hamilton has little bearing on my opinion that the rise of Mercedes was inevitable and he played little part in it. While I t...

Perhaps a return to Bridgestone era tyres, coupled with a mandated maximum stint length? The tyre whisperers would still get a bit of an advantage if they can use their softness on the tyres to attack each lap a bit harder and it would avoid the farcical situation of tyres falling to bits the second...

Mercedes playing hardball, though I still think they will be here next year. Given they supply engines to 3 other teams next year, thats a hell of a ball to threaten to take home with you.

This is really interesting. It is the Rear Brake Ducts only that are illegal. They got a full set of CAD drawings last year, but installed and worked on the Fronts last year, so that means they were 'designed' by RP for 2020. RBDs went straight onto the car this year with minimal differences, so ca...

Renault haven't really won at all here unless those 15 points are the difference between them and RP at the end of the year. Reading that makes it look like the stewards are pointing most of the finger of blame at the FIA and the process of checking the car while it was being developed, something RP...
