Re: Thoughts on Vegas then?
Wasn't the worst, wasn't the best. Looking at it through the Liberty hyperbole machine, it was a huge disappoinment. As a standard race weekend, it was ok, trending to good. The track itself is fairly bland but has enough about it to produce a good race - how much of this race was down to the temps ...

AT were also flattered by having new softs to burn through, though they clearly have made a jump.
Dont think DRS was to blame for most of the overtakes, tyres were clearly an issue from quite early on.

Anybody heard/know anything about Blake? As much as I loved arguing with the guy, the place hasn't been the same since he tailed off, was a proper link between all 3 eras of the forum.

Re: 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix FP & Qualy/Sprint Thread
Speaking of Russell, he beaches his car which secures him 3rd for the sprint race by ruining all the other drivers laps, yet if you just block one driver in one corner you're going to get penalised, such are the nonsensical rules. There's no rule against beaching your car. I know that's why I calle...

Re: 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix FP & Qualy/Sprint Thread
Pretty shocked Red Bull didn't swap Verstappen and Perez at the end.... I guess helping Max getting most wins in a season is worth more to RB than Perez getting second in the WDC, although that is admittedly probably a done deal too. This was probably the best sprint race so far, still not a fan tho...

Not entirely relevant, but de Angelis was one of the 'good' guys in the sport. He had a lot more to give before his time was cut short.

Without casual fans, there is no F1. There is a reason the Sky coverage is dumbed down to the common denominator and that is because there are far more 'casuals' than there are like us. We are in the minority, which is why we seek places like this forum to discuss wheras the average Sky watcher just...

Vettels been called to the stewards because of the top he wore during the national anthem. Pathetic from the FIA. Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision
This is incorrect though, the FIA made it clear that they do not take into account the consequences, only the act itself to decide who's responsible for the incident. That's the correct way to assess a penalty, IMO. Too bad I don't believe them. I think they take into account not only the result, b...

Honestly, I think the pair of them knew what they were doing. This has been coming for a few races at least, and even moreso after the sprint race. Lewis has learnt that discretion is the better part of valour, and has been getting out of the way more often than not when invited to crash by Max's de...

The Pirelli inquest needs to be fast, if it was a pure tyre failure then they will all want to pit again. Depends if it was caused by hitting something on track that no tyre would survive. I agree that there is a higher risk, but your analogy doesn't make sense - impending rain is something you can predict these days with a high level of accuracy, while double yellows and reds are entirely unpredictable. I'm gonna say it. Verstappen consistently hasn't been delivering on Saturday. A return of 1/6 poles in a car that was clearly capable of pole at every circuit is a very poor return for the driver some consider the best over one lap. He's been burgled by Leclerc twice and Hamilton once. A bit too ea...

In another life he would probably have been a Prime Minister, but you cannot choose your family and he carried that baggage with him for a long time. I think this is another area where Indy has it right, you get grid penalties for bringing out the red flag. Don't think he did that on purpose though, a lot easier to just find a place to rip your front wing off without risking damaging the gearbox than doing that. If the gearbox is knackered then i...

I would say obviously Verstappen has more to prove, but it is illuminating to see Hamilton's insecurity and pompousness with his comments on this. “I think perhaps, as you know, he feels perhaps he has a lot to prove. Plumped for Hamilton, Verstappen and Leclerc. Strategy mastery helped Lewis on his way but he was insanely fast in clear air to get the job done. This track is really not needed. Drivers were finding it hard to even pass with DRS. And what benefit did turn 10 deliver? He does seem to struggle with staying on the track doesn't he. That's two off track overtakes he has had to give back and several 'lost laps' in practice as well as the lost fastest lap at Portugal last week. Dare I say poor Verstappen is feeling the heat. I can't imagine he'd be overdriving if Ham...
