Re: Bad runs from great drivers
I think with Vettel if it goes on much longer the Red Bull years might be viewed as a case of a good run from a not-great driver.. That's harsh, you don't luck into 4 WDC's. Point I guess I'm trying to make is if the bad runs are significant they should form part of the overall assessment of "great...

Re: 2019 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
All the time you have to leavea the space! I think it sets a bad precedent going forward if those types of passes are being allowed. "Let them race" is a cliche that makes no sense. Take nothing away from Verstappen though he raced like an absolute god today he's got such a future. Yup, if those ar...

Have to see what happens. I love good racing like that, but that was certainly close to the limit and I had to laugh when he said "he turned into me". I will be cheering Leclerc in the future.
Congrats to Honda! What a redemption for them.

Bad stewarding so far. Dani didn't do anything nearly as bad as Verstappen. Sadly, he has a reputation, and I think you see human bias at work here.

I do miss the old V10 loud engines, and the really fast cars, but I understand why the changes happened. There have never been faster cars than the current ones, so I'm not sure what you mean by this. That's a fair point, but this a very recent development. I must recant that point, you are correct...

Re: Honda podium in 1st Redbull race so were McLaren the pro
Honda struggled, but I think the Renault woes have shown that McLaren had A LOT more blame on their end than public opinion would show. I think at the start it was Honda, but near the end it certainly was down to McLaren scapegoating. Honda has been exonerated now.

As someone who has been watching F1 since the mid 90's, it's current state is a mixed bag. The sport really lacks the old personalities (although that may change with the younger guns). The racing is decent, but there has been way too much Mercedes dominance lately (worse than anything Ferrari or Wi...

So far so good for Ferrari. Much better than last weekend. Gotta see what happens though. I think we still see a 1-2 for Mercedes in qualifying.
