Re: Mick in his dad's Jordan

It's nice, but whenever Mick does these exhibitions I'm just reminded that Michael himself isn't here to drive his old cars at these events, which he would be doing.

Could hydrogen conceivably fuel a V10? If so then go for it!

Re: Uncharacteristic errors from Hamilton and Verstappen

Like in 2006, the guy playing catch up has to take more risks than the guy cruising in the lead. We won't get a like for like comparison until they're back on equal points with close to identical qualifying times.

Re: Best driver to never...

To me, being heavier to the detriment of lap times is the same as not being good enough. I know that sounds harsh but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Nobody would say a midget is as good a basketball player "if only" they were 7ft tall. They're not, so the actual 7 footer is better.

Re: 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Merc seem to be on a decline :-? . I'm semi-happy that McLaren are back where they belong. Only Semi-happy because Ricc isn't there. It was a poor decision to let Sainz go because he would have fought for pole too today.

Tennis too, it used to be once you pass 25, it's downhill from there. Federer has really rewritten the book for that and I wonder why it has changed for that sport. Now you have Nadal and others going long. It could be that the new generation just aren't as good as they should be and so the old guar...

When you make statements like that then you need the raw data to back it up like race chart history, that's for you to do and not me, I'm not looking to find out if what you say is true. Still that being said the end result is still were you finish, this feels like a 100M runner complaining that if...

Re: Uncharacteristic errors from Hamilton and Verstappen

It's amazing how harshly drivers are scrutinised now. I guess because F1 has become so much a game of perfection. I remember Schumacher's 98 win in Hungary. It's held up as one of the greatest wins of all time. If a driver put in a performance like that now they'd be panned for it because he took a...

At the time of his crash I heard it was a brake failure so I'm not sure how that got out. Probably because Ferrari said it themselves... A mechanic hadn't tightened a screw, which led in pressure loss. Actually, this article sums up perfectly this whole conversation: https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-ne...

Schumacher had the microphone on him outside the car a hell of a lot, he NEVER criticised the team so publicly, and he had a lot of ammo with which to do so in 2010-12 when his glorious comeback looked destined to be mired in the midfield (see the BTG interview linked earlier for how Merc brass saw...

I would take Ruben's interpretation with a pinch of salt in the context of all the other comments made by Schumacher's past team members.
