No. Alonso was using a special steering rack specifically made for him to suit his style. Same one that he used @ Ferrari and Renault. However for...

McLaren Formula 1 - Fernando: My Story
So McLaren have put up a mini written documentary on fernando's career. It includes some really interesting quotes from people that have not officially been released or posted either. A nice read :-) Here's part 1 'The Rising Star': http://www.mclaren.com/formula1/team/fernando-alonso/fernando-risin...

Re: Surely Alonso Must Now be #1 at McLaren?
Yes I know there was a ban on team orders. I fail to see why that ban should be unnatural. Which may explain why I failed to understand why Alonso found it ridiculous to go racing, instead of broadcasting radio comedy. Ban on team orders was unnatural because it was always a part of the sport and i...

But my fourth, and most important question, concerns the terms of this present signing. Is Button to be no more than a number two driver? If so, why stay? http://giant.gfycat.com/RevolvingDelightfulGermanspaniel.gif I think Alonso was angry because he was pushed off the track. A Finnish newspaper(TS), not any tabloid said that Alonso demanded to pick every mechanic he wants to his side of garage and that was a big no for Mattiacci. Apparently there are fears that the Ontake-volcano might still be active which might cause some major delays in flights etc., so hopefully all the teams and gear get there in time (Suzuka is just 200km from the volcano). Essentially shows how Alonso is a "scapegoat" for Ferrari, and how Ferrari essentially betrayed his trust and are going to attempt to blame their failures on him i think? Both saying he was on for 2nd and that the other Ferrari was 45 seconds behind were statements meant to big himself up. He was on 10 lap fresher tyres at the end and had DRS most of the laps, yet couldn't pass Daniel. I'd say both statements require further support/explanation. Alonso pitted for ne...
