Here's a nice interlude for the thread...

Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton.

Very nice video - almost a tribute to the 3 greats in a way.

Here's hoping Hamilton's story has a much better and happier end though

Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

Not sure how anyone can conclude it would be a Schumacher clean sweep, considering Schumacher was never really tested by an outright quality teammate (unless you subscribe to the theory that Rubens was just as good as Fernando). As Invade says, a small but decisive edge often leads to a clean sweep...

Re: Evaluating Schumi's legacy

Schumacher is a good driver, but as many people have said, he's never had a WDC as his team mate , and after coming back from retirement, and once paired with Rosberg, he lost. He's also had a few dubious moments like parking his car, ramming into others, and so on. If you ask me, I would rate Senn...

Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

Hamilton edges it for me, simply because he has faced better team mates, and never went against the rules of the game. Schumacher was good, between 1996-2000, and if they had shared the same car, he would have been beaten, as done by Mr Rosberg Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but to comp...

How can it be taken as their ultimate pace when they already showed that they could go quicker? Q3 is supposed to be their ultimate pace. If a driver buckles under pressure and goes slower, then of course that should count against them. The only reason to not consider Q3 times would be if the drive...

That's a point. I was going to comment on Hamilton's racecraft where he hangs other out to dry (to coin a Brundle phrase) on corner exits - don't get me wrong, he isn't by far the only driver to have done this - but this is exactly what Kimi did in this example. I recall thinking at the time that H...

Verstappen’s sportsmanship is what needs to be discussed. He let Hamilton through between turns 10 and 11 because he said it would be “unfair” to let him through later in the lap and then DRS pass him down the main straight. That is Hakkinen level sportsmanship. Guys like Alonso or Hamilton, althou...

From the start you need to run the maths past me how does Leclerc being 0.331s quicker equate to 0.595% should it not be 0.369%? Your math is wrong because your numbers are wrong. Leclerc did a 1:29.678, and Sainz did a 1:30.215 - so Leclerc was 0.537s ahead. No idea where you're getting your 0.331...
