Black and orange flag is being under used
First of all I don't take it for granted that everyone knows what a black and orange flag is so a quick explanation. It signals to the driver from the FIA that a driver should return to their pit because they have damage to their car. It does not mean they are disqualified. So I suggest this flag is...

Re: 2017 Mexican Grand Prix Race Thread
I do think there is some (a lot of) truth in the fact that the FIA seemed to have encouraged contact between competitiors. Earlier in the year we had Vettel effictively using his car as a weapon and yet in the interview afterwards said: "F1 is for grown-ups." Yet driving into a title rival on purpos...

1995 is a year that no one has mentioned but there were some really good races in that year Spa and Nurburgring being two of the best ones.

Hamilton now becomes the 3rd most successful driver in F1 history. Behind Schumacher and Fangio? Yep. Of course its not just about the numbers but at whatever stat you look at it is clear that Hamilton is now near the top of every list, 3rd in most world championships, 2nd most wins, most pole posi...

Re: 2017 Mexican Grand Prix Race Thread
Well - let's see if Vettel can put in a performance for the ages to finish 2nd and somehow keep the race going. Wouldn't that be extraordinary? No, considering he had to ram his opponent out of the race and go unpunished. Without it there is nothing else Vettel could do. If this really happens, i w...

Re: Why is the FIA inept at enforcing track limits?
Either way then it is desperate to show the picture of Vettel then as they are not comparing a like-for-like example.
Everyone keeps saying there are loads of examples in the past race. Name them then. No one will be able to at all.

Re: Will Mercedes change their approach to the last 3 races
Anything could happen, but the best way to guard against that is to continue racing for the wins. As already said the field spread is so large that he really just needs to finish the race at a normal pace to win the world championship. For the last 3 races in a row he has finished over a minute ahea...

Thought I may as well start this topic, seeing as one with the triple world champions is also on going. The race coverage today seemed to feature a lot of people watching the race. I don't want to watch them, I want to see the cars on the track. Its a motor race, a bit of a clue as to what they should be showing us!

I can not see a separate thread about this (I guess it might be discussed in the main race thread, but I considered it important enough to have it as a sepatate thread, so here it is.) And there have been a lot of knee jerk reactions on this forum lately. After Jules Bianchi's death, one post on this forum said that cars should just simply...

Re: Can F1 ever be made completely safe?
I don't see how it can be. Any activity where cars go at 200mph can never be completely safe. This is clearly true. But it should never be used as a reason not to make it safer . The thing is though at some point there will be an incident which the FIA have not foreseen, which no one has foreseen.

Schumacher not only kept all of his wins in 1997, he kept all of his points as well.
Anyway mine is in 1997 there was a last race battle for the championship. Heinz-Harald Frentzen finished runner up in the championship.

There is a bit of a difference between greatest and most successful. Most successful is based on the facts of number of championships and number of wins etc.
Greatest as already mentioned is more subjective. However I do enjoy watching Hamilton.
