Re: Jenson Button's future

If Button was an average driver he wouldn't still be in F1. He isn't Maldonaldo bringing stacks of cash. The problem here is Hydra cant see that Vettels cars were better than anything Button ever drove. A lot of people think Red Bull had the car to beat Brawn too just not the drivers to do it. I'm ...

Re: The Official Jenson Button thread

Looks like Red Bull are going to put in an official protest to McLaren's dragonfly suspension. Of all the sources I have read, most believe the FIA will sanction it. It's seems to be within the rules but against the spirit. Ferrari are supposedly now testing the feature in their wind tunnel but the ...

My heart says Button, my head says Hamilton. I'm fairly convinced the WDC will be British this year.

Re: Betting odds and who would you place your money on?

Punting on F1 can be very profitable, and it is my second favourite only to horses. Punting on the WDC however, is not that valuable. It's effectively a very long term bet, in which all manner of things can go on between March and November. However, I believe Button will win the WDC and have taken o...

Re: F1 2011 the game (PS3/Xbox360/PS Vita/PC)

For all it's faults, I still really enjoy the game. I got very disillusioned with online, but then started playing with all assists banned on the filter settings, which basically means ABS, auto gearbox and TC all removed. It's now great as you get real players, but unfortunately at the detriment of...

I can't help to saying this, but, I think Jenson is going to win again this Sunday!. I think it's going to be a great race; we could see an all Mercedes powered lockout of the front two rows. I have to admit, I've had a cheeky couple of quid on the two Mercs for pole purely because the odds were so...

A couple of issues in both sessions for Jenson which will obviously put him a little on the back foot. Pace is promising from Hamilton though and Jenson did get a good long run in so I think we're in a good place.

Roll on qualifying!

Not at all! Jenson deserves all the praise he's been getting and there's no doubt he's a top contender. The point I made to make sure everyone understands is that if Jenson wasn't with McLaren, Hamilton would have won the WDC in 2010 and possibly contended in 2011... I'll quote you here, from the p...

Re: Best 2012 car for a wet race?

Rain is a performance leveller. Yes some cars will be relatively better then others but setup and driver skill are more important in my book. I agree some will switch their tyres on easier but dont forget the wet tyres wear out as well so chances are they will chew those up too. Chances are mclaren...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button

Well something clearly did looking at the figures. It just looks similar to Monza 2010 IMO. Jenson went for the barn door rear wing, Lewis the skinny and Jenson had the better weekend. Could be differing gear ratios. Lewis set up to make up for more use of the DRS in quali. Button set up for the he...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button

imo, that's the problem. He doesn't hate JB enough. JB thus has the mental edge over Lewis as he's the more PR guy in Mclaren. My view is based on the way he races Button. It seems a little gentle, compared to how he raced Alonso back then. But I feel in terms of raw speed, Lewis is still better . ...
