Re: Alonso or Hamilton?

Ive always rated Alonso higher as well but this year its tougher to compare the 2 cause Hamilton has a rocket ship and Alonso has a turtle. Also its a lot easier to be mistake free with a car like the Mercedes when your always starting races on the first line and when the car has only one competitor...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread

Every driver this year has had to adapt to totally new cars, tires and regulations. Usually the best rise above the rest in adapting to this and in F1 you have to be adaptable as regulations and cars change often. Some drivers who looked great under certain car designs and regs just couldn't adapt a...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread

I'm starting to doubt his overall fitness level. It seems to me that he usually starts to loose out to Alonso in pace after more or less half the race is completed. Anyways I'm done trying to find excuses for him.

Re: Alonso 2015

Why would Alonso ask to be No.1 driver? Because as he well knows from personal experience, it's the surest way to win a WDC. It doesn't matter so much when the car is dominant, but if it's not then the no.2 can cede places, hold up competitors and other such valuable services instead of taking poin...

Re: Slowest Formula 1 driver in a decent car

Yes I have read that as well. Looking back on it 97 was a weird year. Over the season 7 different teams had the pace to win a GP at one time or another. The fastest car in the second half of the year was possibly the Mclaren but they lost a lot of wins through poor reliability. The Ferrari really h...

Yes Frentzen came to mind for me too. Had the best car and was totally outperformed by JV. Reason why I cant put JV's WDC to chance only. There were some awesome drives from JV in that season.

Re: Silly Season 2015 Uberthread [MERGED]

I am still trying to understand why FA chose to do things the way he did. Sure Ferrari didn't provide him with a great car to fight for the WC that much we all can agree. Why did FA make his position known to Ferrari unless he had a place to go? I am of the opinion that he most likely had a deal in...

Re: Silly Season 2015 Uberthread [MERGED]

FA could be waiting to announce where he is going because there is still a small chance of a Merc drive next year if Lewis is offered something he cant refuse to go elsewhere(McLaren) or if the FIA announce 3 car teams next year. Once that's out the way he will either stay at Ferrari or go to McLaren.

Re: Smedley - "Alonso is the very best of his generation"

It's such a great position for Alonso to be in, he should not move. He is the best of his sport and he hasn't won a title in almost 10 years, that's a pretty good foundation, when you can be the best and you don't even have to win. F1 is 90% car. If you had put Alonso in a Marussia and Raikonnen in...

Here we go again with the nonsense that Alonso is the best, if you ask what makes Alonso good they can't say anything special. Alonso was a monster as always but I'm giving it to Ricciardo. Good points from some of you. LdM / Ferrari present themselves as company or team where whatever the boss says goes. Changes need to be made. They have a lack of leadership.
