Quite a large stretch to get to podium here I think. Just a bad race fro Merc this one and it all, ironically started with Verstappen.Mod Titanium wrote:podium yes, win don’t think it’s on the cards todaypokerman wrote:Looks like Hamilton was just looking after his tyres hoping for a late race charge perhaps?

We need Hamilton to pass bottas of we want a race for the lead. Bottas will just sit and follow If not for Verstappen sleep, Hamilton would have gotten past Botas, who didn't have the greatest start too, but that fail from Max saved him. Luis will have problems overtaking Bottas now, don't see how ...

This is the first time an incident like this has been punished. There is no consistency. Hamilton did worse at Monaco 2016 and got away scott-free. You are talking 3 years ago. I feel sorry for Leclerc, because Ferrari are sacrificing him in favor for Vettel. If he wants the better strategy, maybe he should be quicker than Vettel in qualifying next time. So you say, because he wasn't ahead of Vettel in Q the team shoud f..up his strategy? What a hilarious logic. Merc coul...

Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread
Honestly, getting tired with all that moaning, complaining and lies from Vettel. The penalty was spot on, he makes a forced error, under pressure, goes out of track, and rejoins unsafely with the sole purpose to block Hamilton who was overtaking him and then blatantly lies there is no where to go. Merc screwed up again in Monaco and only luck didn't cost them the race this time, that's why Hamilton was a bit grumpy at the end, cause they put him without much need in a very tight spot.

Did Merc just totally flopped this?
Ruined Hamilton's chance for 1st by keeping him out?
Why?
Do they really think they can battle at the end with fresher tyres?

Because there isn't any logic in doing it. There isn't any logic in considering any other driver at the moment at all. Hiring a cheaper driver instead of LH would suggest that Mercedes are in the show for saving money, which is exactly opposite for which they are there - making money. To do that, in...

I think there is a hidden play here and though many of you surely have read it when it was out, many have forgotten it - VW (AUDI). There was, not so long ago, a notion that VW is considering entering F1 (as AUDI most probably) BUT not at the current state of regulation in F1 and that they are watch...

There was enough space for Max had he slowed down a bit to stay in track limits. He just decided to go down to the metal through the cut seeing an opportunity to pass Kimi. Probably too much adrenaline and not thinking he is actually gaining advantage while cutting the curve.
