Re: Red Bull is considering switching to Volkswagen in 2015?

Has everyone forgot about the packaging headache that RedBull have given Renault. Some even bring up the fact that RedBull have had people in Renault helping develop the software (as if that's a bad thing). All of Renault's customers have people giving feedback and direction to Renault so why wouldn...

Re: 2014 Canadian GP Practice and Qualifying Thread

I would have LH for a dominant win but the fact Rosberg can dissect his lap overlay will make it close. I don't think teams have closed the gap to the mercs that much and I don't think they will this year. The split turbo is a huge advantage to aero, weight dist and power delivery and simply can't ...

Re: If Alonso was in Mercedes this year with Lewis...

I don't get why people always use 2011 as proof of Hamilton's inability. He won three races that year, so that's not as horrendous as people make out. and to suggest he's not improved as a racer since 2007 seems very odd. I'd choose Hamilton to come out on top for two reasons. 1) He's more experienc...

No action regarding Rosberg. I'm as pro Hamilton as they get, so I'd welcome a penalty for Rosberg as, like many have said, there was no need to put it in reverse because he couldn't possibly start another lap. Making him start 6th or 11th would be equally harsh though Nico's gonna have his mirrors full of a very angry Hamilto...

It seems to me that lots of posters on here have no personal experience of competitive sport. I think Hamilton does play mind games, but only on himself. If you are in a head to head fight with someone, is it best to think of them as amazing, and easily capable of beating you, or is it best to thin...

Re: red bull front camera. declared illegal

I don't understand why people are moaning about this, nor about the accusations of inconsistency. The whole point of having cameras is that it makes it better for us, the viewers, to get a decent view. The recessed cameras gave poorer quality pictures and didn't allow for panning, so therefore they...

Even last years race was quite fun. Perez going loco, Kimi going on a late surge. Like others have said,I also expect Merc to dominate. This was always the track that seemed to negate RB's downforce, so I'm not sure why RB have been talking up their chances. It'll be very close between Nico and Lewi...

Perhaps you have not heard of the Ferrari 458 Italia? The 512? Sad thing for Alonso is even if they get Newey by the time he produces a winning Ferrari it will likely be some younger driver in it, possibly even Vettel. I'd hazard a guess that if (and it is a big if) Newey does join Ferrari, Vettel will be there too. In that scenario Newey would be be given fre...

Re: Is the Nico and Lewis honeymoon now over?

I think Nico could learn a lot from Seb. His style is more methodical in his overtaking when compared to Nando and Lewis, as he probably prefers (or is used to) leading from the start. Seb & Rocky clearly planned those t10 overtakes, whilst everyone else tried at t1. Nico's side of the garage are go...

Jenson did have some stand out drivers, his a wet/dry genius, probably the best driver ever in this respect. He closed it and they said tyres are over-heating, he had the gap down to 1 second with 8 laps to go. Given what happened in Bahrain they went with a bit more caution. The important factor also is that it is 10 tens harder to pass in Spain. Why being cautions when Nico had enough advantage to pit t...

Renault and Ferrari (And the teams they supply) might need to copy and paste the Mercedes PU, whereas the Mercedes powered teams only need to make changes to the chassis to better incorporate the Merc PU. McLaren are the wild card though. Can't help but think they've missed the boat on these regs al...

Re: "Save them to fight Lewis at the end of the race"

Not much to say. The team told him to hold back, presumably to avoid over-heating and not take too much life out of the tyres. Nico seemed to close the gap to about 0.6 secs quite easily, and then the turbulent air did the rest.

The "quickly zoom past" thing was easier said than done.

No way was Alonso's 2013 average, that is ridiculous. So basically you are basing a season on 2 mistakes in the early races. What about the other 17? Many people seem to regard Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton and Raikkonen as the top four drivers. Looking back at the 20 Fernando 2012 possibly best ever season. 2013 distinc...
