Re: It's getting harder to be a Williams fan
“It’s not been the start that we hoped for but probably one that we expected" Really Claire? With zero preparation going into the Aus. GP this season, the team is essentially set up to fail now. You're at the helm, and you're clearly offering nil as a leader. So far out of her depth it's embarassing.

Re: Could Michael Schumacher have won in the 2018 car?
What's probably being forgotten, is that MSC wouldn't settle for this "is he or isn't he my #2" thing that Vettel is contending with at the moment. MSC would have had the other car moved over straight away in Germany, and he wouldn't have been giving it a tow in Italy. It's a great question though. ...

Re: What next for these guys?
Under the current Formula, whoever can avoid a Renault engine is best placed IMO. I think Perez is best placed, has the FI situation and knows it well, knows the Merc engine will be thereabouts up to the new regs in 2021. Move to Haas won't entirely surprise for next season, if Leclerc goes to Ferra...

Re: Would you support Ferrari or let them go?
Amazing to see that there are people happy to watch Ferrari walk, and not actually care for the health of the sport. The sport needs Ferrari, it's honestly that simple. It may not be a popular fact, but it's still a fact. If Red Bull left, it would suck but the sport would carry on. If Mercedes left...

Re: Would you support Ferrari or let them go?
This is hardly new, and it's not really different from any other time Ferrari have threatened to leave. I do recall ten years ago or so, when the Concorde was up for renewal, a large chunk of the teams (not including Ferrari) threatened to leave Formula 1 in an attempt to get a better deal in relati...

That lap from Murph was just something else. They have never gone into the 7s until that weekend and then he bypasses it entirely. Now they're doing low 4's.
If anyone ever gets a chance, or an inkling to attend, do it. I ticked that box a few years back. It's truly an incredible experience.

If I was Haas, I wouldnt offer him any more extensions after current contracts run our of if I have termination clause, I would use it if some other good driver lines up and becomes available. Is it a complete disaster though? IF they can get the gearbox back in order, they're set. Worst case there, 5 places in Suzuka. Not ideal, but not a disaster I wouldn't think. Did Vettel also not take 2 NEW engines this weekend? Effectively meaning he has one fresh ICE, and one fresh minus any wear ...

K-Mag: Dangerous, unsporting or simply misunderstood?
"The most unsporting driver on the grid" - Nico Hulkenberg "Hulkenberg was right", and later ""For his driving, we more or less agree with the other drivers, it's 19-1." - Fernando Alonso. So, is K-Mag fundamentally a dangerous, unsporting driver? Or does he simply take the "I'll LEGALLY put my car ...

I think he needs to have a dynamite 2018 to be there in 2019, and even then it may not be enough if either RBR driver wants that seat. DanyRic is out of contract, and Max will 110% have clauses in his contract around RBR's performance in the same way Vettel did (and just about all elite sportspeople...

Switzerland allows it, so there's nothing any organization can do to stop this from happening. People leave and join other companies all the time taking vital info. FWIW, Ricciardo drove the bulk of Singapore with a dud gearbox, and Bottas honestly couldn't get near him so the drive I thought was very very solid all things considered. His racecraft is second to nobodies, obviously we know he can fight wheel to wheel with anyone and doesn't take a backward step....

This same thread title could have been interchangeable with Seb at the start of the season when he clearly had a length on what Lewis was producing. What sort of lap times do we all think we'll see this weekend? Sub 1.20's? RoGro has said he doesn't expect the same sort of gain to be had here, as elsewhere. What he was producing was worthy of criticism. He was a pay driver, in the third best car on the grid (at the time) and underperformed. Forget his age, forget his experience. This is meant to be the pinnacle of the sport and he should be judged as such. I'm happy to say though, he has well and truly...

Stay with me here. It's not even a debate that Lewis did the wrong thing, by sitting there leaving the turn at 50kph NOT accelerating. I think what McLaren have to decide for 2018 (and possibly beyond) is simple. Do they want Alonso? Or do they want Honda? I'd be stunned if they have both next season. For me, no brainer. My stab at the 2018 lineups Merc: HAM/BOT - Suspect they're enjoying the smoother intra-team relationship too much.
