Re: 2026 Miami Grand Prix FP & Qualy/Sprint Thread
Interesting from Ted's Notebook talking about Aston having no upgrades. He said that during the break they left a chassis with Honda in Japan and they have apparently managed to solve the vibration issues, so now the have a clearer path to start introducing performance upgrades.

I must admit that he's rather entertaining - and not really wrong... Thanks!!! Yep if you want something even more entertaining (IMO) and outrageous - and also not really wrong - you should find the one where he 'discusses' Lance Stroll. Wow did anyone else watch the UK Channel 4 highlights today? I don’t think the FIA will be pleased as it showed highlights from the first two races brimming with video game sounds, overlays and effects, power-ups, Mario cart type effects and explosions etc. Sorry can’t find a link online anywhere ot...

RPM analysis of Ferrari strategy for first two races (not for the faint-hearted)
A new vid just dropped from my fav F1 commentator - Rocket-Powered-Mohawk, first in almost a year, so thought it worth a quick post as I thought he had disappeared off the face of the Earth. Some good observations as ever……

Re: New Regs .. First Impressions?
Well I suppose after this weekend the FIA can now truly claim F1 cars are ‘road relevant’. They are just like our road-going EVs…. a gremlin within the battery system renders the car unusable and even the best mechanics/technicians are unable to do anything without going back to the OEM....

Re: Cost & quality of current F1 options in the UK
Ah right so that's why I've struggled to find accurate listings for the replays! That's infuriating as a few times last year I've turned on the TV to watch the replay at the advertised time (after avoiding news, phone and internet all day) only to see the race at mid point, which totally ruins the e...

Happy to reserve judgment for a few races but Peter Windsor’s words do resonate in terms of initial impressions (and are not very complimentary)…

Re: 2026 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
A more interesting race than I expected but it didn't do much to convinced me about the new regs. Ferrari justifying the reason I didn’t pick them for WCC, Doh, although great to see BOTH drivers up there. Gutted for Hadjar, Lindblad is a beast (mid-season swap anyone? 8O ). Re: Snap Poll: who will be 2026 WDC (vote closes before lights out)
I have not voted (I don't feel I have looked at enough data for a sufficiently formed opinion), but find it interesting that only 2 of the 21 voters so far have selected either Norris or Piastri. I think it's a combination of 2-3 factors, most of which Jenson's understeer laid out in their post. Fi...

Re: Snap Poll: who will be 2026 WDC (vote closes before lights out)
Well I’m the outlier that voted for Norris, granted maybe wishful thinking, but I suspect with the monkey off his back he will be stronger, calmer and less mistake-prone this year, plus I think he may have a slight advantage over Piastri in terms of adapting more quickly to unknowns with the new car...

Pirelli testing cancelled - Bahrain/Saudi GPs likely to be cancelled or moved
Just hearing that 70+ McLaren, Mercedes and Pirelli staff are stuck in Bahrain with outbound flights suspended. That is not good and I hope they get to safety as soon as possible. Also, given that Trump has mooted a five-week ‘military action’, it seems very unlikely that the Saudi and Bahrain GPs c...

I liked the white-and-orange Monaco livery from a few years ago much more than this year's offering, which is very uninspiring. The Monaco livery would probably be even better if striping was added in line with the press photographs. https://cdn-3.motorsport.com/images/amp/YMdeKX12/s6/daniel-riccia...

I'm thinking Norris might be needing Piastri to win in Abu Dhabi as he would then only need 5th to take the title. Going by today's performance I'd be nervous for Norris even taking 3rd if Russel and Antonelli are quick.

Why would they act differently than the rest of the "powers" around the world ? They know the problems come mainly from the cars (size, aero, etc.) so they'll try anything to avoid to tackle them. Agree. They're unwilling to address the real issues so they just look for band-aid solutions that at b...

I think if McLaren had just told Norris they were going to pit Piastri first to cover Leclerc then it would have been just hard luck and definitely no need to swap. As is was they discussed it with Norris and told him he wouldn’t be undercut, so whether you agree he was indeed undercut or not McLare...
