Re: Monza 25: McLaren's position swap
I think if McLaren had just told Norris they were going to pit Piastri first to cover Leclerc then it would have been just hard luck and definitely no need to swap. As is was they discussed it with Norris and told him he wouldn’t be undercut, so whether you agree he was indeed undercut or not McLare...

Re: 2025 Italian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
For some reason I can't watch the official FORMULA 1 channel practice highlights today on YouTube via my phone or laptop because it has 'defected I'm using a VPN' (which I'm not). Anyone else from the UK getting the same?
It's only the FORMULA 1 channel that is doing this - very very frustrating.

Re: The Official Lando Norris thread
Start definitely wasn't the best, but I think his drive once they had made the call to swap the strategy was excellent. The actual start off the line looked pretty good to me. Obviously the line he took that saw him boxed in and lose places wasn't the best but the initial getaway looked decent. Onl...

Does anyone have any idea regarding Hamilton's 08/08 cryptic message? Is it also connected to his let downs by Ferrari & where he said Ferrari needs to change the driver! This is what Leclerc said in post race interview: "In the car I didn't have all the information, now I have. We had an issue from lap 40 on the chassis. From that moment I was just a passenger. I'm disappointed, but these are the races. At least I know what happened in the background". Very strange...

Other than Horner not stepping aside when the scandal broke last year, which may have cost the team Newey and that would count as an enormous mistake , I don't really see what he has done recently which was wrong. Yes, the car has not performed, and ultimately that is his responsibility, but he doe...

If this decision was purely performance related I’d be slightly surprised.
[Edit] do we know for absolute certain he was sacked? the statement said 'released from operational duties', which leaves more wriggle room than the FIA rule book

Yep, I'm a Norris supporter but this is getting frustrating. On the other hand Piastri has one of the most unflustered and compassed temperaments on the entire grid (IMO), which really emphasizes Norris's vulnerability.

I’d love to vote Norris, but of the three he seems slightly more fragile. He needs to step up his race craft to maintain any advantage over Piastri, who only seems to be getting stronger. Verstappen is going to be right in the mix and I suspect McLaren’s team strategy will likely help Max more than ...

Lawson has had two pre-season test days and two (or two-and-a-half) races - that's insufficient time for him to get to grips with what appears to be a fundamentally difficult car to get on top of. One thing that strikes me is; it’s not just about ‘F1 losing long-term fans’, I suspect many of us ‘committed’ fans are also being turned into casual fans e.g. I do not consume anywhere near the content as I used to, rarely watch the pre/post shows and will often settle for highlights. On balance I think he was correct to play the team game.
