Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

I’m interested in where Vettel and Leclerc fit into this-

Verstappen
Hamilton +0.2
Bottas +0.4
Perez +0.5

Have you worked it out?

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

Nonetheless, Verstappen’s race pace is better than his qualy pace anyway. I'm not sure I agree with that. A hallmark of a driver with better race pace than qualifying would be to frequently challenge for wins in races where they were uncompetitive in qualifying, and we don't really see that from Ve...

Re: Is Ricciardo done?

In the third best car, how was that a WDC capable car and only in the hunt due to McLaren/Mercedes mess ups, he won only one race because of the pit lane collision between Hamilton and Kimi, he was out of contention in the last third of the season. In 2014 Ricciardo had the 2nd/3rd best car and won...

The lifeline for Ricciardo is a totally new car for next year because he's clearly struggling with the car presently, to say the greatest driver never to make a title run with the limitations that he has, I'm not so sure. Who do you think it would be, then? Bear in mind that mikeyg123 said he would...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

That is the long game no? Hamilton was on the inside, there is no scenario in which he can come out of that worse. If they make contact, the car on the outside will come off worse, 80-90% of the time. You can also be calculated when taking big risks. There isn't really any scenario where if they do...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

That's why I view it as a racing incident. Max was judging the space based on his own line - but Hamilton's natural line was wider, and Hamilton's understeer occurred because Max took this line - but could have anticipated this and angled his car accordingly. The more I look at the incident, the mo...

If Bahrain was Verstappen's fault, then Hamilton should have won France but he failed. I'll bite. How so? 41% will share that opinion, not everyone Meaningless argument. Let's make the same poll in a Dutch speaking forum and let's see what they think. It’s a very similar spread to drivers, current and ex that have spoken on the matter. Seems about 50/50 with racing incident and mainly Hamiltons fault.

Re: Uncharacteristic errors from Hamilton and Verstappen

Verstappen kept the lead but it was ultimately Verstappens start that allowed Hamilton to justle him through the first half lap. A cleaner start and he leads the first stint.
However, I agree a start where you lose 1 place or go side by side into turn one is not an error.

Re: Uncharacteristic errors from Hamilton and Verstappen

The luck is certainly with Hamilton this year (so far) although 2012 is not a great comparison. 2016 is much more fitting, although 2016 was more extreme than this year. But there is still time for it to end up that way. Especially if Verstappen needs to take a new engine after this crash.

For all this talk about how dirty Verstappen is, he’s been sitting on 0 penalty points for the last 2 years now. Hamilton on the other hand has been collecting them like Pokémon cards. He had 8 at one point and was flirting with a race ban, I think he’s down to 4 now. That's a very weak angle to ar...

I said it above, Senna and Berger both had 5 mechanical DNF’s in 1992. What was the other bad luck? Berger himself had plenty, as did Senna. Senna’s 1992 was very much like Hamiltons 2011. Collisions. They both kind of lost focus when the title became impossible and both had a lot of collisions. It...
