Re: Eric Boullier: 'We're ok with hiring fatso'

Hope this happens. I'd be really excited to see what Hulk and Grosjean can do next year if Lotus produce another decent car. I doubt there's any Lotus fans anywhere who don't want this to happen. Massa is cool, and I want him to be on the grid next year, but Hulkenberg is (IMO) future championship ...

Eric Boullier: 'We're ok with hiring fatso'

Lotus have said they haven't ruled Tubby Hulkenberg out of driving for them next year despite his gargantuan bulk taking up a greater portion of their weight allowance. Reckoning that his racecraft and talent should overcompensate for the fact he has to lug all that extra lard around with him. http:...

Re: Alan Permane - Kimi Got Lucky!

Does anyone really know why Grosjean has two extra sponsor patches/marks on his racing overalls that Kimi's attire does have? Could it be that Lotus' sponsors where actually privately working towards the objective of Kimi going away so their "golden kid" will get his chance to shine? Total Sponsor ...

Re: Alan Permane - Kimi Got Lucky!

You haven't seen Raikkonen before 2012 I am guessing. Kimi earns preferential treatment through performance, wins, podiums & Championship on the racetrack. Lotus would be nowhere in 2012 & 2013 without Kimi Raikkonen's points... Seriously, thats a fact. Sure, it's a fact, but not a valid argument. ...

Re: Alan Permane - Kimi Got Lucky!

For the last two years, Lotus may as well have been Kimi Raikkonen Racing. They've always been a biased team, I don't get how some fans believe it's unreasonable for the team to be shifting bias to the guy they're keeping. There is a very vocal group of Kimi fans (not just on here) that seem to thin...

I han't watched Sky's coverage for a while, when did Ted Kravitz start doing the gridwalk? I respect his technical knowledge, but he doesn't have the clout of Brundle as an ex-driver or the balls of Brundle to push non ex-driver press personnel out of the way.

Voted for Hulk before I even read all the options. He had an excellent drive and delivered a masterclass in defensive driving to Lewis before tyre wear seperated them for good. If he doesn't get that Lotus seat, it will be an incredible shame. He's one of the best talents on the grid right now. Put ...

Also in my OP i made reference to the other AP comment from Singapore: "never been so annoyed to get a podium". it's like they only care about RG and are indifferent to what the other car does. Again, this is a lot less 'bitter' sounding in context. In the case of Singapore, when they retired Romai...

I'm just taking it race by race now. Sure barring a crazy chain of events, the championship is decided. But there's no guarantee who's going to win any particular race, and even today when Vettel was dominant, the race behind him was great to watch.

I don't think it's unfair at all. Kimi was lucky today. That's not a slight against his driving ability any more than Webber's car catching fire is a reflection of Mark's ability. Safety cars usually end up helping some while hindering others. They helped Kimi no question. Whether Permane should've ...

I think I made the right call by not getting up early to watch it live. I just Sky+ it and watched it as soon as I woke up so I couldn't be spoiled by the news, or my own Facebook/Twitter which is full of F1 stuff.

I think Lotus should start again and take di Resta & Hulkenberg. Both are more reliable and probably just as quick. I like DiResta, I really do, and as much as I'd like to see a Brit in a Lotus, Paul just has the worst luck in the world. If Grosjean was to leave (which won't happen) I'd take Sutil....
