Re: Rosberg to Ferrari (Rumor)
If I'm Rosberg, I see that I can match or beat the man touted to be the fastest man on the grid. Why would I go to Ferrari to essentially be Alonso's caddy? I want to go somewhere I can win a world title. I want to go to Lotus or Mclaren if they decide to get rid of Checo after this year. If he can...

Re: If Alonso doesnt get his third WDC in 2013 - will he eve
They were asking the same thing about Schumacher after 1999 when he went 4 years without a title. Alonso is facing much stronger opposition and with consistent car disadvantage its a testament he has even come so close to winning the title in recent years. It will be tragic if he never wins another ...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
But Trulli and Flavio fell out big time after France, and it's no co-incidence that he failed to get a decent result after that. If you look at his record before then he was a consistent high points finisher; after he fell foul of Flavio he never scored a point. It's not unreasonable to assume that...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
I do not accuse him of getting Trulli fired. I'm just saying it could be handy in the future: whenever a driver outscores you, try to get him out before the last race, so it doesn't show up on your resume as being beaten. Trulli didn't get the chance to drive those last two races. All in all, they ...

Re: How do you feel about the Vettel/Alonso Rivalry
Call it what you want but it was still a great achievement , what Alonso did. Vettel clinched it but when he most needed he had dominant performance at the end of the season just like 2012, which makes it so much easier , compared to Alonso struggling to qualify in the top 5. I just does not impres...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
Pretty much the only team-mate Alonso had that I rate higher than Webber was Hamilton. Alonso didn't prove to be better than Hamilton that year. In the meantime Button has been fairly competitive to Hamilton and Rosberg is doing well too. So what can we all conclude from that? I guess you forgot ab...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
Not fair at all for Trulli. Put alternatively: all Alonso has to do when getting outscored is having the other driver fired before the last race of the season? *Definitely True*. He got outscored in 2004 by Trulli. Actually its not fair to Alonso to judge him on an uncompleted season. He did not ge...

Re: How do you feel about the Vettel/Alonso Rivalry
The reason Alonso didn't do better was because Hamilton put pressure on Alonso and Alonso get caught up in internal politics. Look at the last six seasons, when Alonso has the chance to win it all, when the pressure is greatest, he fails. It's nothing to be ashamed of, it happens. Just look at Serg...

Re: How do you feel about the Vettel/Alonso Rivalry
This is really telling of the double standards you're using: - If Massa matched Alonso for a while in qualifying, he obviously is on top of his game! - If Webber matches Vettel in qualifying, Vettel is obviously not a top-class driver because Webber isn't on top of his game anymore. I'm pretty sure...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
But, again, he has never been outscored by a teammate in the end - something Alonso has been, twice, once against a driver that wasn't top league. Alonso has never been out scored either. 2004 was not a complete season. How many titles did Newey's cars win in the '00's? When did Newey's cars start ...

Re: How do you feel about the Vettel/Alonso Rivalry
It was not "very small", nor was it totally erased by "getting crashed out by "the Lotus drivers". First of all, Japan was not in Kimi. Second, Alonso got crashed out once and lost, what, 15 points? Vettel lost more in Valencia alone. And that was not the only mechanical issue Vettel had, as oppose...

Re: Sebastian Vettel: Greatest Of All Time?
Lol. You're just kidding now, right? Vettel drove from back-of-the-pack to Alonso's tail in a matter of 10 laps. He had to deal with an extra unnecessary pitstop where the wrong tyres were fitted, with another totally botched pitstop, and with a broken radio. Meanwhile Alonso was happily going off-...

Sorry, I'm not buying what you're selling. Of course not because your so biased beyond belief. Alonso had advantages that Vettel didn't, although they may not be considered part of race pace. The rivalry is like Scumacher vs Hakkinen , which is a great driver in good cars vs a good driver in great cars. Funny some people mention Vettel and ignore that old webber has not only matched but dominated vettel for longer periods, like early 2010, and 2012. You seem to handle a strange definition for "dominated". Take that notorious first half of 2012, I have often said Webber only had the upper hand on 3...

Re: How long before Rosberg will be considered as top driver
If we selected certain 6 race segments between webber and vettel we would conclude Webber is faster than Vettel, as he has not just matched him but dominated him for periods of time together, so its too early to consider rosberg a top driver.

Its still too early. Hamilton has been quicker 3 out of 5 weekends though and I still think the tyres are holding him back. He was never as good since pirelli joined the sport imo. Michael was quite strong in 2012, but terrible the previous years when Nico used to consistently thrash him.

He is already 28 points behind Hamilton. Destroyed in all 3 qualifying sessions, and out paced in two races, and Hamilton is still warming up in the new team, and will only get stronger. Ross Brawn will surely be gravitating to Lewis already, as he tries to emulate his glory days with Schumacher. Is...

Since 2009, Vettel has had a car that is capable of winning almost every race as long as it stays together. With that kind of unprecedented privilege, things will always look easy for him.
