Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread
Don't forget to factor in that inncidents in the first fee corners of the first lap are treated less harshly.

Re: 2019 Canadian Grand Prix Race Thread
Ok there's nothing he could have done to control the car but he did gain an advantage from going off the track i.e. failed to loose a place. He could have give the place to LH then tried to repass. I think Ferrari have lost a bit of their tactical savvie in this reguard, rather than await a Merc app...

Re: Rumor: Mazepin in talks to buy Willaims F1
Their resiliance into not being a no.2 team or a manufacturer team while admirable will probably end them. The racing technology side seems to be doing ok. It will be sad to see them go, but plenty of other historied and great names have gone before.

Re: Crashgate Singapore 2008 Revisited
Its the depth of knowing I suppose, novel strategy hoping for a safety car, but today's Alonso yoi coukd almost see in the centre of the discussion.

Re: Crashgate Singapore 2008 Revisited
To me there is always that lingering question, did Alonso know? Did Flavio deliberately keep him out of it to protect his valued asset? Difficult to remember what he was like back than, but he'd have surely questioned the strategy? Would the Alonso of 10 years ago have easily been deflected with 'lo...

Re: New Qualifying Format Poll
Yes F1 doesn't have a history of admiting they were wrong, and are unlikely to say yep that ducks let's got back to last year. There have been plenty of qualifying formats that have been tried and then dumped over the years. And never once did they return to the previous system, if memory serves. E...

Re: New Qualifying Format Poll
I'd like to see it retried but rather than being eliminated straight away, if your on a hot lap you get a chance to complete it. But what was wrong with the old system.

Re: Official Australian GP Qualifying thread
At least let cars complete a lap before being thrown out. The albitrary 90 seconds is just dumb.
I've not posted here for bloody years and the quality system is so bloody awful it's brought me back. Worst idea since that single lap *Definitely True* from a decade ago.

Re: Hamilton getting radio coaching/instructions
This radio traffic rule seems as stupid, unrealistic and as unenforceable as the old no teams orders one.

Re: Safety in F1 following Japan GP [Split from other thread
It should be questioned if pieces of construction equipment, tale handlers front loaders etc are the most appropriate things to be at the side of the track. Perhaps if possible cars should be recovered by more remote equipment jib cranes, winches mounted on vehicles behind the safety barriers etc. y...
