Re: 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
This race shows why people need to chill a little with Perez/Max/RedBull decision making. Perez is a good number 2, he is a super likeable guy and I doubt there is anybody out there that does not want him to do good, but he just does not have the consistent pace to sway decisions in his favor, he se...

Re: The Official Daniel Ricciardo Thread
The years as Vettel team mate severely skewed how good Ricciardo was. Vettel had a horrible time with the car at that time and everyone jumped into the "Vettel is done" train. But Ricciardo is no more than a good midpacker that dive bombs people to complete passes, he was never "that" good and was n...

Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Sometimes I think people are forgetting that Mercedes lost the Abu Dhabi grand prix yesterday. They did not lose the championship yesterday. They lost the championship in the early stages of the season. But I think it's interesting that no one at Merc or RBR gives a stuff about that WCC. The commen...

Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
We can argue all night about it, but Merc fell asleep on the strategy today. Toto knew the door was open, his was nervous a SC was going to be called on the VSC that is why he radioed Massi. Then they left Hamilton out (even HAM questioned the choice) and did not reacted to RB calling Max in, and th...

I don't imagine that George will be sleeping well tonight, nor tomorrow night. We just need to wait for the Alfa Romeos to have 30 second penalties then his team mate will have 2 points! I am willing to give George a pass on this one, when he accelerated, just in that moment he went over a dip on t...

Re: Official Sebastian Vettel thread
Always liked Vettel but acting like a 2 year old on the team radio each week makes him look classless To be fair, he has had to make the call on strategy on a number of occasions (overruling the team on when to pit) over the last two or three years. With recent goings-on in mind I can quite appreci...

So, who would like to explain why Hulk was pitted again? I notice that Stroll finished one position ahead. Hulk had a vibration and apparently wouldn't have made it to the end. Its the sensible thing to do from a team managing position. Why give more points to Hulk when he is an alternate? It was c...

Re: 2020 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
The Albon / Hamilton incident highlighted typical Brundle. He instantly claimed Albon needed to be patient and had wasted a chance, before then realising that Albon had passed. Brundle offers some brilliant insights in to the sport, but I often find him making huge claims before really looking at t...

Harsh penalty for Hamilton I thought, not Albon's fault but I thought it seemed clear from the onboard that Hamilton understeered wide and couldn't really have done much else. Racing incident IMO. There is a pedal on the left foot that when pressed slows the car down, is also has an effect on weigh...

I do not think that comparing drivers to their team mates even if they are driving the same car will return a definite result as to who is better than who. Much less if said driver is only dedicated to F1, you will have to measure them when handling different type of race cars, which in a way is the...

Gasly was "only" .700s down on Max and .300s down on the Renault. Did Max get a tow? Horner spoke about leaving the pits at the right moment to maximize the tow. If the Toro Rosso was able to get P9 without a tow then the Honda engine appears to be working well. Considering RBR is usually faster tha...
