Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

There is almost no similarities between the 2019 Red Bull and 2023 Red Bull, these are two totally different cars build under different regulations, with very different strengths and weaknesses. The only similarity is that Verstappen was the best driver in both seasons. But yes, the whole “comfort ...

Re: Silly Season 2025

I don't see why it has to be Russell. We don't know how good Antonelli is yet. Well that comes from Wolff, Antonelli is the Verstappen they missed out on unless it seems he can get Verstappen himself. As I said earlier today if they can get Verstappen then everything Wolff has said prior can probab...

No amount of gaslighting from Verstappen detractors will convince anyone with a bit of intellectual honesty that a guy who matched Nico Hulkenberg over 3 years is a bad/slow driver and noticeably worse than Bottas.
At Mercedes Bottas never had a car that he struggled to drive.

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Our debate is not if Bottas is better than Max, but him being better than Perez, and Perez paints Max good with his inability. Long story short: 2021 was Bottas' worst against Lewis, he was unmotivated and sacked, obvious why you picked it for comparison. Dont know how Max beat Bottas in 2020, when...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Everyone who wants Max to “test” himself will get it soon enough, as the rumours are that he is joining Mercedes. I do wonder what the excuses will be when he inevitably turns Russell into another Albon. For starters the Mercedes won't handle like a Red Bull plus Newey won't be around, those advant...

Re: Silly Season 2025

Obviously not ideal for either driver but nobody can complain if they're let go for an upgrade. Re: The big 6 then the rest?

In my opinion Verstappen is currently obviously the best driver. I have little doubt. Fair enough if you disagree though. It's always impossible to know 100%. If one looks at the two burdens of proof from the US legal system -- preponderance of evidence (civil cases) and beyond a reasonable doubt (...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Is there a driver in F1 history that we never found out completely. I can not think of one. You just have to be patient enough and it all works out. There was a time when Kimi was the fastest man in F1 and Schumachers replacement. That ended when he switched teams. There was a time when Vettel was ...

Re: Silly Season 2025

That's pretty pejorative language. Mercedes wouldn't be treating either of their drivers unfairly by signing someone better. So I wouldn't describe it as that. They both are supposed to be the future of Mercedes, it's not really a good look for Russell. Obviously not ideal for either driver but nob...

That would be a good move for Ocon and hopefull leave room at Alpine for Martins if he picks his form up off the floor. I think Doohan is first in line. As of now definitely. The 9-6-4-3-2-1 system also included dropped rounds, normally a season was 16 rounds but only 11 rounds counted, they decided that all the rounds should count and then added an extra point for a win emphasising the importance of winning races. I'd luckily forgotten about the dropped rounds. But loo...

Well Norris won't be champion. It's true but totally irrelevant. Have race wins been significantly devalued? Under the 9-6-4-3-2-1 system second place was worth 66.6666r of first place. Under the current system second place is worth 72% of first place so only slightly more. None of this is relevant...
