It's not based on Q2 times how could it be when Leclerc got knocked out in Q2, he didn't set a time, you have no recollection but you can make counter argument. You base a counter argument with no recollection of what what happened in Baku 2019 to say that Ferrari should have won 12 of the opening ...

That is okay, Wheatley is not involved in designing the car. Operationally Wheatley is a very clever guy, you think that's not important? Relatively unimportant compared to the design of the car, yes. Also, a function that is easier to replace or recruit. Tell Mercedes that. It has nothing to do wi...

Re: 2024 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread

So Norris missed the pit entry as the SC was called and the SC missed Norris (I assume he passed pit exit before the SC did?). The SC then picked up Verstappen and effectively extended Norris' gap prior to him pitting next time around. I assume that the SC, having missed Norris, should have allowed...

Miami F1A races weren't the best.. but then F4 cars on that circuit isn't a recipe for excitement. Looks like Pin is going to have more of a challenge than some predicted. Re: The big 6 then the rest?

Looking at it again I think you have too many tiers... Looking at the state of play as of now I think I would suggest something like Tier 1 - Verstappen Tier 2 - Norris, Leclerc, Alonso Tier 3 - Sainz, Hamilton, Russell Tier 4 - Perez, Hulkenberg, Ocon, Gasly, Bottas, Tsunoda, Albon, Piastri Tier 5...

Isn't he going to be working on a Red Bull project? I can't see him going to any other team. When he left before to work on sailboats he returned to RB, so why not continue the challenge? Clearly the current drivers cannot extract a great deal of performance from the W15 and they were also struggling with the W14 and the W13. In my view the drivers are unable to drive around some of the unwieldy characteristics of the current generation of Mercedes cars. That leads to a downwards sp...

You’re doing a very good job of deliberately missing the point. You listed a bunch of races which Ferrari “should” have won in 2019 and included Baku which is based on very little evidence apart from Q2 times. Then when I make the same argument for 2022, you turn around and claim that I said Ferrar...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?

Even as a Verstappen fan, I was very encouraged by the pace of McLaren and Ferrari at Miami. The upgraded McLaren in the hands of Norris looked like the fastest car, while Ferrari was at most 1-2 tenths slower. Miami is a circuit that tests every quality of a car. Top speed, mechanical grip, brakin...

True, Max had just gotten to the front and looked to be on his way to a victory when he got a piece of carbon stuck in his floor.
