Re: Is Vettel at Aston Martin starting to look like Mansell at Mclaren in 95?
I dont understand. What did he do wrong at Imola? The race circumstances were out of his hands. Brake fire Pit lane start Penalty DNF at the end Plus numerous team blunders such as the team not sending him out on a drying track so he could improve his laptime during Q2. Were people expecting nothin...

I forgot to shout out for Raul Fernandez, a rider I championed after the last race, winning the Moto2 race in only his third outing, only Maverick Vinales did it quicker after 2 races, it took Marc Marquez 4 races.

Only two votes for Hamilton, despite that wonderful recovery drive ? Me thinks that sour grapes are on show. Methinks that 2011 Hamilton was on show  Norris showed the 'Right Stuff', his fastest lap (lap 63), set at the same time on the same compound and age of tyres, was 1.1s faster than Ricc...

Re: Is Vettel at Aston Martin starting to look like Mansell at Mclaren in 95?
I actually thought that his drive in Imola was fine, just very unlucky. I find it interesting that for a driver who is so prone to losing control of his car, in the most difficult conditions (Germany 2019, Turkey 2020, Imola 2021) he often keeps it on the road. In fact, he might be the only driver ...

You recognise the mistake, you apologise and then move on, Russell hardly touched Bottas' helmet so that's a bit of a storm in a teacup.

Re: Is Vettel at Aston Martin starting to look like Mansell at Mclaren in 95?
The performance gap between Ocon and Alonso was bigger at Imola than between Stroll and Vettel, Ricciardo got thrashed by Norris, Perez was terrible, only Sainz has really done reasonable well consistently thus far even then he can't hold a candle to Leclerc in qualifying. I would say that there is ...

And it seems Quartararo is starting to come of age, combining his natural speed and flair with extra confidence and a greater maturity. Ocon - Ocon did what he should have done in Bahrain, he had Alonso comfortably beat in qualifying, in the race I'm not sure what happened beyond Ocon finishing slightly in front of Alonso but I suspect the red flag helped to close the gap. Alonso was right behind Ocon the whole time: https://i.ibb....

I would venture today that without DRS in the dry there would have been no overtaking, it comes across as it being a crime for a much faster car to be able to benefit from it, it seemed much more of a problem for cars with less of a performance delta. Mercedes does seem to take longer than others to get its tyres switched on when it's cool / wet. Note that Hamilton quickly dropped back from Verstappen during the opening s...

That would apply if it were a grid restart. As a rolling restart, he'd either regain his position before the SC line or go fro whatever position he'd be in. No if you are fully off the track then you can be passed under the SC, if Max then retakes the position before the restart he then gets penali...

^ Didn't someone earlier liken this to Canada 2011? On that day Vettel did not put a foot wrong until the very final lap. Button, by contrast, had a first half to forget. Yet he is remembered for what was at the time a stand-out win. That might have been me, that being said I didn't vote for Hamilt...

Mercedes seem to have a mighty race car, I think they will leave Imola happy about the rest of the season.
