Re: Rank the Drivers Midseason Performance

Last season in 2 car finishes it was 6-5 between Sainz and Norris. There was little between them. The main difference in the points is the 2nd place finish for Sainz after the red flag at Monza. Would you not agree that Norris looks like he's taken another step forward and that his performances don...

Re: Rank the Drivers Midseason Performance

Looking at last years rankings Perez was at #5 and Bottas was at #10, put Perez in a top car and then he drops down to #12 one place below Bottas.

Re: Who will win the Championships?

It's too and froing so much that I can't decide, Max was looking the favourite, driving better and had the better car, the gap was 33 points and should have been bigger. Due to even more misfortune Max is now slightly behind with the car advantage gone, maybe Red Bull are now slightly behind, I feel...

I would hope that Lewis gets some expert medical advice about his health and that Merc can find someone to help tailor his diet and training regimen to best get him back to 100%. The closer Lewis gets to 40 the more he will have trouble maintaining the same kind of fitness and driving skills that h...

I'm normally close with these polls, big surprise to not see Max leading and being a clear leader at that, I do feel Norris is being a little overrated due to how badly Ricciardo is performing. He's third in the championship in arguably the 3rd/4th best car at times. And a car that is miles behind ...

Re: The Official Sir Lewis Hamilton thread

After seeing Lewis post race yesterday he's probably grateful for the summer break has come. He mentioned after the race that he thinks it's due to long covid. With that being the case do you think we could see a scenario where the FIA ask him to go through a medical? He was dizzy post race it coul...

How could that have worked prior to this season when Verstappen had only had non entities as team mates where you'd have no idea how to place them? Genuine question. As I don't understand. I had (apparently wrongly) assumed that Riciardos rating was so high due to beating Vettel and Verstappens rat...

Re: The Great Big 2021 A > B > C Thread

Whilst I don't believe this is Ric's representative speed. His position in these comparisons was probably also artificially high because of his 2014 against an under performing Vettel though. I would say clearly artificially high because of 2014 but not by a huge amount, this year as to be seen as ...

I originally went for ocon and alonso, but since learning teams could talk, and merc decided to keep lewis out and and not pit, i dont think its fair to penalise hamilton in that regard. So ill add lewis as 3rd best drive I agree he could have passed alonso quicker, but i think hamilton knew alonso...

Alonso, and only Alonso. His defending from Hamilton was epic, proving that you actually can defend from a much faster car without forcing him off track or hitting him. Great stuff.
Alonso banged wheels with Hamilton which helped to ward off one attack.

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix

Did Lewis have a car 2-3 seconds faster than the entire field? Or did he have a tyre offset to the field based on how early he pitted and then taking the extra stop? As I said he literally exceeded the expectations of what you said when I added the caveat if Verstappens car is healthy after the red...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix

Hamilton had the pace to lap the entire field easily today. He really should have won. Didn't make it a walk in the park to pass cars though. And I get the impression that a lot of Ham's race pace today was down to him - his pace was fantastic. Unfortunately no good direct comparisons with Bottas n...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix

Has to be Bottas. The precision with which he managed to hit Norris to then hit Verstappen was the kind of shot that Ronnie O'Sullivan would tip his hat to. On a more serious note Ocon has to be a contender of course. Alonso, Hamilton, Verstappen, Vettel there are contenders all the way down in man...

On reflection going from last to third place on such a difficult place to pass after the cock up at the start was a really good result for Hamilton, if the undercut on Ricciardo and Max fails then that just doesn't happen and it was really close, 2 or 3 more laps I think he wins the race but I very ...

Yes. I am surprised nothing has been mentioned as yet. After the Bottas carsh, Charles could have come out in second after T1.
They probably took the view that Bottas triggered everything that came after.

I'm watching the replay and see nearly every car leaving a sensible gap to the car in front under braking, Bottas simply didn't do that it was terrible driving given the conditions, Stroll probably also did the same .
