Re: New points system

Im sorry, what is the purpose of the points if not to rank the teams across a season? They clearly are still able to get ranked without scoring points, it devalues the achievement of scoring points and has the feel of participation awards, everyone should be a winner. Uh, actually you can't rank te...

Re: Silly Season 2025

This. It's probably been mentioned here about 8-10,000 times, & in motor racing circles about a couple of million times over the years, but when any driver joins a team, what is their #1 mission? It's to beat their teammate yeah? For all the reasons F1Merc mentioned above, I think joining RB as the...

Re: Silly Season 2025

1782864722536112232 This is actually old news he said it at least 2 weeks ago. The wording at the end is strange, his debut would be at Imola because he would have just turned 18, the FIA wouldn't have to authorise it. Previously Saward said Monza which would be when Antonelli would turn 18. Now he...

Re: New points system

I'm hearing that the teams pay for every point earned so this enables the FIA to garner more money and this has come from the FIA itself, probably MBS, this follows on from an increase in fines into a system that I believe doesn't publish their yearly accounts since MBS took charge.

Re: Official Valtteri Bottas Thread

In terms of present day Bottas how can he be judged given the car he has had to drive these past 3 years, this year we have comical pitstops and when he has a chance to finish in the points his engine blew up, put him up against the Hulk and I'm not sure who comes out on top.

Re: Silly Season 2025

Ignoring the fact that Max doesn't need a rear gunner, I just can't understand why Sainz would go to Audi. These are his prime years, unless Audi has a dominant PU then I don't see him winning races or contending for anything for years with that team. Maybe I'm completely off base and they will sur...

Re: Silly Season 2025

Sainz would be incredibly stupid to take the Audi drive over an absolute certain WDC shot in a Red Bull in 2025. If Audi don't get Sainz they'll likely pair 38 year old Hulkenberg with 36 year old Bottas. It's not like the Audi opportunity isn't going to come back around. I believe Ocon is in the r...

It's contract time and it looks like Bottas has upped his level and putting the kind of manners on Zhou he should have been doing all along according to some, however it might already be to late for his F1 future, I guess teams might be wise to that kind of behaviour.
