Re: How will Max and Lewis race each other for the rest of the season?

It is like putting your kid at the university with a 6 years headstart, but at least universities are more serious and none will admit you without credentials and prior achievements. Child prodigies exist in every facet of society, and Verstappen was a child prodigy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/...

Re: How will Max and Lewis race each other for the rest of the season?

... The most plausible outcome is that Perez has underperformed relative to the last few years, the RB is a really tough car to drive and Verstappen has 1-2 tenths on Hamilton. While certainly not an expert here, I have seen lots of opinion that the RB car is a bear to drive (rather twitchy) and th...

Re: How will Max and Lewis race each other for the rest of the season?

If Hamilton somehow managed to outbrake Verstappen into Copse with such a shallow line while simultaneously keeping his car on the road on exit, it would have been an amazing move, but it didn’t happen and hence doesn’t matter. Correct. Hamilton's pass just wasn't there , now was it? Going back 25 ...

Americans don't pay for Sky they pay for ESPN who decided to essentially buy Sky F1's broadcast because either their product was worse or it was simply not profitable to produce its own so goes back to the point of if you want a better service then put your hand in your pocket. Re: Sprint Qualifying alternative

Aside from agreeing with Jezza, I've had numerous ideas how this could be adapted and made better. The best I can think of, if we must have a sprint and a GP, is a reverse grid. So Friday's qualifying session sees the grid set for both races. The sprint, however, reverses the entire field. Points a...

Re: Sprint Qualifying alternative

tim3003's proposal sounds interesting, but vulnerable to a lot of gamesmanship (tricky). BlackMist's proposal really doesn't seem to add much to the format vs the current Sprint format. Nothing against their attempts, but I think that the Sprint is just a flawed concept; I'd say "Just 86 the sprint ...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

To me, if the turn was truly Hamilton's, why did he back off in the first place? Him backing off indicates to me that the pass just wasn't there, and once doing that, that further indicates (to me at least) that he now had the responsibility for not hitting Verstappen provided that he had his 2 mete...

Even in the best of circumstances, neither Verstappen nor Hamilton can control the reliability of the car (or fudged strategies, bad pit stop etc.) enough to preclude potential victories by other drivers. Hamilton only needs two victories to get to 100. Seems quite likely this year IMO.
