Re: 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread

I think it's been said here earlier, but it really does seem like a standing start in wet conditions is really not such a good idea. Exciting, yes. Makes for a good race, no. Safe, no. Perhaps the FIA should reconsider this. Other series do rolling starts and while not quite as exciting, does genera...

The outline "44" on Hamilton's engine cover is nearly impossible to read with the car in motion. Same with Bottas. IMO, these numbers should be SOLID to conform to the regulations requiring contrast. As others have noted, we wouldn't be discussing this, or at least not to this level of forensic examination, had both cars made it round the corner. So really we're not talking about the drivers' actions but about the consequences, which I think is an error for the same reason it was wrong that Gro...

I readily believe Hamilton had understeer, he certainly didn't use his full steering lock. But we all know that's not necessarily what is going to help when your speed is simply too high for the line you have chosen. Which makes me wonder what his planning for overtaking at Copse on Sunday had been...

... The most plausible outcome is that Perez has underperformed relative to the last few years, the RB is a really tough car to drive and Verstappen has 1-2 tenths on Hamilton. If Hamilton somehow managed to outbrake Verstappen into Copse with such a shallow line while simultaneously keeping his car on the road on exit, it would have been an amazing move, but it didn’t happen and hence doesn’t matter. Correct. Hamilton's pass just wasn't there , now was it? Going back 25 ...

Aside from agreeing with Jezza, I've had numerous ideas how this could be adapted and made better. The best I can think of, if we must have a sprint and a GP, is a reverse grid. So Friday's qualifying session sees the grid set for both races. The sprint, however, reverses the entire field. Points a...
