I'm thinking that Antonelli has a very solid prospect for the WDC this year.

All British podium - TURN OFF SKY SPORTS NOW FAST Yea but at least Crofty isn't here. The BBC will go nuts about this for years on end about this though and claim how amazing British drivers are and probably half ignore the circumstances as to why Antonelli wasn't there. Why would the BBC go nuts? ...

Great lap by Hamilton. You have to wonder where Leclerc's head is at the moment. The car certainly looks quick enough. Leclerc will never be world champion, I think that must be pretty clear by now. Leclerc's over-exuberance in quallies has been the substance of threads here for several years. He c...

Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread
Common sense youd say is how do you get a penalty foe speeding without ever speeding. Simply not logical and the measurement method is so typical of F1 its not surprising at all Realistically they will investigate themselves and find themselves to be right, too messy to clear it up. Many measuremen...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread
Where on earth did the 2 seconds come from? I don't remember many upgrades giving as much as 2 seconds during a season... May be they don't mean 2 seconds per lap, nor a single race, but a total of 2 seconds for the 17 remaining GP... That said, it's not an upgrade, it' a redesign. Which means they...

Eventful! Great race by Antonelli, he is a force so far. What a shame that Ferrari's super-launches have been curbed, it would have made the last start interesting. I was watching a video about the pit-lane incidents, they got fines for going 60.1km/h... IThis is because they measure the time it ta...

Based on the FIA’s ADUO assessment, Red Bull appears to have the strongest ICU component. But that does not mean its (it might be) the strongest overall power unit, because the FIA’s assessment is not a full power unit ranking — it does not fully capture battery deployment, harvesting, battery effi...

Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread
Bernie Collins made a couple of interesting points re the pit lane speeding …. Monaco is unique in that the cars at point of pit entry are going slightly slower than the actual pit lane speed limit. Therefore when they hit the speed lane limiter button the car actually accelerates up to that speed ...

Just watched the 1974 Monaco GP again - with cars/drivers managing overtakes in four different places of the track. Regazzoni (Ferrari) spinning in a three-way fight for the lead. Peterson (Lotus) overtaking Lauda (Ferrari) for lead with a breathtaking manoeuvre before the tunnel. Altogether, a lot...

To be clear, When I say I’d like more overtaking than there has been the last decade, that is on balance – looking at the period as a whole and not necessarily individual races. I recognize that there have also been races with DRS where they got the balance to far the other way – resulting in far t...

Did I write you shouldn't challenge me? ;-) I am not worried at all. If there is no measure of skill, then claiming that "skillful overtaking" should be the standard of overtaking in F1 - the recurrent claim to which I responded - does not make much sense as a guideline for new regs or judging regs...

Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Technically, before DRS, cars had no moving aerodynamics at all. So it is a bit of a misnomer. I think they did, they had the front moveable wing before DRS for a couple of seasons, didn't they? The driver had to select which position to use. They did. I have absolutely no memory of this at the tim...

So it is better than DRS and we should be happy ? Not if you don't care for cars being able to overtake one another I guess. and we go in circles again... I've checked the lap times Russell was clear of the power boost zone for 5 laps and the 2 of them were posting identical times, then Russell made his mistake giving Antonelli the lead, Antonelli then posted 2 laps 4 tenths quicker than Russell taking him out of the power boost zone but then immedia...

What is the "pinnacle of motorsports" in your opinion? In my view, the pinnacle of motorsports is that category that is the most demanding from its drivers.
