I think it's about time this thread was put to bed.
So I'll just say "Good Knight"

Re: Countdown to 2021 Australian Grand Prix...
This time last year I had just returned from a month in Aus visiting my youngest stepdaughter. Although she lived in Brisbane, we flew down to Melbourne for 5 days and stayed in a hotel overlooking Albert Park. We walked around the complete circuit layout, but being mid December it hadn't been "buil...

Re: Ben Edwards.
Just a (kind of) aside, Channel 4's coverage is provided by Whisper (website whisper.tv) The co-founders of Whisper (in case you didn't know) are Sunil Patel, Jake Humphrey (remember him?) and David Coultard. I know nothing about Sunil Patel, but if you google his name, it comes up with "an actor an...

Re: So, do people want "novelty" races now ?
Novelty races? Definitely not. This race was "special" because it was unexpected. The cars could not cope well with the conditions they were faced with. Teams did not know what to do because rather than make aerodynamic changes to the cars, they had to use old fashioned engineering instead. Imho the...

Despite being a Newby, I'll add my thanks for all you do and have done.
Being a mod is a thankless task. The only thing you can be sure of is that you'll always be wrong in someone's eyes.
I have a friend who moderated a football board for a couple of years.
Which is why I don't do it

If you feel ill......
Then ffs DON'T go in to work! My middle stepdaughter's fiancée works in sales for a well known car company beginning with M ;) . Just before this latest lockdown started, he was involved in a training session which in itself wasn't well run (lots of people in a small room with no ventilation). The d...

Re: Stefano Domenicali replaces Chase Carey as F1 CEO
May not be such a "Ferrari" orientated move. On the BBC F1 site, it says he "resigned [ from Ferrari ] in 2014 after refusing to comply with then-President Luca Montezemolo's wish for him to sack Ferrari's engine head after the team badly underestimated the requirements of the new turbo-hybrid engin...

Re: Red Bull 2021 - who would you sign?
I find it quite interesting how many people think that hiring from the outside for Red Bull would be admitting failure in their driver program. Verstappen is clearly a pretty special talent and on pure pace hard to dispute that he is as good as any. I don’t think it is even particularly surprising ...

Re: Red Bull 2021 - who would you sign?
Can't see much option other than Albon. Apart from (as I've indicated on another thread) the apparent fact that the "second" Red Bull driver doesn't seem to do well, no matter who the "no. 1" is, the only people on the original list who are (I think) Red Bull Juniors are Albon and Gasly. Unless you ...

Re: New Member introduction thread
Welcome Barkilphedro! And not the first new registration since then - just the first to introduce themselves in this thread :D I'd guessed :D Actually I'd been reading these boards for a while before registering and was waiting for the 1st anniversary of the 2019 post before I wrote anything. Dammi...

Re: The Official Alex Albon Thread
I'll add my voice to all those that say (in effect) that to be the "2nd" driver in the Red Bull team is the kiss of death to any WC hopes. They really do (from where I sit) have definite "favourite" drivers who would appear to get much better treatment in terms of car set up (and design?). I'd say i...

Re: New Member introduction thread
Drat! I was going to make my first post about how I was the first new registration since 19 Sept 2019 but FrogInARaceCar has now ruined that :frown: :-D I've been interested in most forms of Motor Racing since my parents bought me my first copy of Autosport as a (starting to be) moody teenager in Ju...
