Re: Hamilton/Verstappen British GP 2021 Collision Discussion

so are we to assume that basically Red Bull claimed Hamilton crashed on purpose?

Whatever your view on the incident, I feel RBR have not come out of this well.

Re: 2021 Drivers Points/£m

I don't trust the P-F1 information (or any other, really), but I would agree that Norris is almost certainly the best value on the grid. One thing to consider -- although it would be complicated to create a formula to adjust for -- is the point earning potential of the car. It's far easier to deliv...

Looking closer, the standing do make for , er, interesting reading. After 7 events/14 races, the leader de Vries has 4 retirements, 3 finishes outside the top 10 and 2 wins. You wouldn't expect a scorecard like that to be leading the championship. Frijns in 2nd hasn't won a race yet. 10 different wi...

Wow. Seems like the format, the regs, the tech, the gimmicks are the deciding factors in who wins... where does driver skill come in? Seems more about decision making and working out to work around the rules. This certainly hasn't made me want to give it another go! I'm still curious as to why it do...

He's not "done", but at this stage in the season, his stock will certainly have dropped a bit. But as him and Lando are alongside each other for a while yet he's certainly going to have to close the gap. Alonso has shown that it can be done, and Sainz has show that's possible to hit the ground runni...

Interesting to read this as I didn't know there was so much going that was frustrating viewers and fans of the series. I hadn't got into it closely enough to pick up on all that. It's one where I like to use a phrase my bike instructor used a lot - neither of the drivers involved *caused* the incident, but one at least could have avoided it. Racing incident for me, just. Hamilton hadn't got ahead to claim the corner fully, but I felt the attempt was fair. Verstappen could have left more room but I don't think he was obliged to. That really drives home how punishingly expensive even the lowest tiers of open-wheeled racing are. €9,500 isn't chicken feed; for an average family, an unexpected expense that high is way outside their ability to pay.

And that's just F4.
