Re: Female Racing Drivers

"This enjoyable project has now come to an end, having helped to start the careers of Maya and Aurelia, who have a challenging and hopefully success...

Re: Female Racing Drivers

So someone help me out with the maths element of this as it interests me. We don't have any real numbers but I'll make sum up for the sake of the exercise. Let's assume that 1 in 1,000 male drivers are good enough to be in national F4 level racing. Only 1 in 10,000 female drivers are good enough to ...

Re: Female Racing Drivers

Wolff: "We managed to make a change in the regulations in FRECA that got our driver a fourth entry and reduced the steering load." Pin is racing in FRECA then, I would be guessing for Prema but R-ace GP have the best car, that's good to hear she's not going to learn anything in F1A. Not as far as I...

I can't find much detail but I did notice a remark about the F1A graduation to FREC where F1A contribute financially to the team providing the car, but there's also reference to "reducing the steering load" . Curious to know more about that.

Even Pin I think would struggle to get enough super license points but she's worth backing to see how far she might go.. Not sure how many she has (if any) but even if she won F1A this year and came first in LMGT3 she'd only get 22 points from them so a long way off I think. the F1A title would mea...

Re: Silly Season 2025

I'm hoping a knock on effect of Bearmans impressive stand in, is that teams are more open to taking a punt on new talent rather than sticking with safe , but frankly uninspiring old hands. I do understand, even 1 extra point gained from a driver having experience means they would take them. From a f...

The teams are assets in themselves now. Gone are the days they were a bottomless money pit. The Mercedes F1 team costs Mercedes nothing. The pressure of "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" is no more. Agreed - that was my point, but you made it much more clearly! Worth remembering F1A is run to race time not number of laps, so throw in a safety car or two as they had, and it's vital that the team keeps the driver informed as the race approaches the end.

Plus what was possibly worse, and the part that actually incurred the penalty was that Pin carried on a full lap at racing speed while the pitwall were doing fist bumps. Ultimately it's results that count - so that's what I've done, you are of course free to ignore! That's fair enough, just pointing out a significant confounder in the data. I exclude DNf's so they have no impact. That is not strictly true because Hamilton was almost always ahead when either driver suffered poor reliability or crashed out. So actually you are reducing Hamilton's margin. There was 20 DNFs between the pair and Hamilton was ahead when either of their cars...
