Re: The Official Carlos Sainz Jr. Thread

I have the thought police on my tail so one last post on the matter, something you probably don't realise with needing to take into account Hamilton that tends to be a slow starter, this not helped by a troublesome car these past 3 years, also take into account that these cars have become more diff...

Re: The Official Carlos Sainz Jr. Thread

You don't believe in fluctuations of performance then and a 3 race sample will suffice, I see in another thread that Leclerc has somewhat been written off after getting beat by Sainz last time of asking. Nobodies being written off where is all this hyperbole coming from? I've been saying I think Ha...

Re: The Official Carlos Sainz Jr. Thread

I would argue about the level of decline based on just 3 races, let's face it if Hamilton was beating Russell we wouldn't be having this conversation. :) I mean, that's a pretty obvious statement. If Hamilton wasn't showing signs of decline then people wouldn't think he's declining. You don't belie...

Re: The Official Carlos Sainz Jr. Thread

I think it's easy to forget that until the last round of '23 Sainz was on to beat Leclerc but dropped from 4th to 7th or something and behind Charles. I agree with the general thinking that Leclerc can probably post a quicker lap, but over a race, over a season, there isn't much in it.

So someone help me out with the maths element of this as it interests me. We don't have any real numbers but I'll make sum up for the sake of the exercise. Let's assume that 1 in 1,000 male drivers are good enough to be in national F4 level racing. Only 1 in 10,000 female drivers are good enough to ...

I can't find much detail but I did notice a remark about the F1A graduation to FREC where F1A contribute financially to the team providing the car, but there's also reference to "reducing the steering load" . Curious to know more about that.

Even Pin I think would struggle to get enough super license points but she's worth backing to see how far she might go.. Agreed - that was my point, but you made it much more clearly! Worth remembering F1A is run to race time not number of laps, so throw in a safety car or two as they had, and it's vital that the team keeps the driver informed as the race approaches the end.

Plus what was possibly worse, and the part that actually incurred the penalty was that Pin carried on a full lap at racing speed while the pitwall were doing fist bumps.
