Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

I get the feeling Verstappen and Hamilton will move on from this and it's Horner that will end up looking a bit of a small bird of the blue/great variety.

They state that if the driver on the inside has "a significant overlap" then "the corner is yours provided you make the corner cleanly". https://i.postimg.cc/9fS1szSw/hamVer2.png Hamilton is 2m+ from the apex, he is either there because he chose to be or because he couldn't make the corner. Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

It's one where I like to use a phrase my bike instructor used a lot - neither of the drivers involved *caused* the incident, but one at least could have avoided it. I think the move was on (as we saw later), and it was really a case of that Senna/Prost thing of confirming that - so-you-know-for-next...

W Series race wasn't great was it, not quite the showpiece they might have hoped for. Pulling did OK but overall the race felt a bit flat to me and left me with a bad feeling about W Series for this year. The old guard are still dominating and the new young talent are not yet shining - at least yet....

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

Racing incident for me, just. Hamilton hadn't got ahead to claim the corner fully, but I felt the attempt was fair. Verstappen could have left more room but I don't think he was obliged to. Hamilton could have backed out, but he showed later it's a legit move. I do think there were some senna/prost ...

That really drives home how punishingly expensive even the lowest tiers of open-wheeled racing are. €9,500 isn't chicken feed; for an average family, an unexpected expense that high is way outside their ability to pay.

And that's just F4.
Great story though and well done that man whoever he is.

Quick half-year report for the female drivers in the various F3/4/5 series Lets assume for argument sake that you could expect the top 20% of the drivers from each series to be looking to potentially moving up the ladder. Well we don't know do we. It was a 3 year extension , so we cam assume that's in the region of 70 or so race. That's plenty of opportunity to provide a return on investment. His recent run isn't great and if contract negotiation time was now, I don't think they'd be waving a 3 year extension at him,...
