Re: Female Racing Drivers
Thats a nice story! Teammate Garcia was the inaugural F1A champ. That same weekend at Silverstone also saw Jamie Chadwick, Lilou Wadoux and the Al Qubaisi sisters on the podium.

Re: Female Racing Drivers
On returning to racing with the Iron Dames, Vanina Ickx scored pole position in her class and victory in the race at Silverstone. ..with Marta Garcia one should add!! They are currently 5th in GT3 class but they retired from the first race and then withdrew from the 2 Le Mans races. They're doing p...

Re: Monza 25: McLaren's position swap
So Papaya rules are you're free to race subject to any Team calls from the pitwall. That's fair but I think this call sets a very vague precedent. Exactly what incidents will be called out as bad luck/unfair for a driver to the point where the other driver is called on to compensate for them. I thin...

Monza 25: McLaren's position swap
What to make of the order to swap positions? I understand and it was crappy luck for Lando, but I didn't like it. Much as you can say Lando 'should" have been in front, surely it's just racing. Where do you draw the line? You can't remodel an hour of racing and say but if X had happened I would have...

Re: Cadillac Confirm 2026 Drivers
Colton Herta will be joining Cadillac as test (& reserve?) driver. 1963263390631039360 Also to be expected. However, I think that, from the Andretti roster, Kirkwood and Hauger are better drivers and bigger talents. I am curious whether Herta will do F2 as it was recently rumoured or completely foc...

Just a slight tangent here. Noticed Battle Far hasn't posted for a while (Late May) & we're all familiar with the health issues he was dealing with. I sincerely hope he's doing ok & is just taking a short break. Yeah, was thinking the same a few days ago, BF if you're out there, give us a thumbs up!

Re: Cadillac Confirm 2026 Drivers
I can see the logic in terms of experience. Another way to view it is, they are signing two drivers who 1) had long spells in cars that in other drivers hands won multiple Championships. 2) were dropped by leading teams because they considered there were better options available and 3) didn't really...

Re: Female Racing Drivers
Larsen signed up with Ferrari Driver Academy. So assume she will do a 2nd year in F1A, and maybe another full time F4 programme. Weug will probably stay with Ferrari but has to leave F1A so if they continued to support her it's probably GT or similar Nobels has not really shown much potential so I'm...

Re: The Official Lando Norris thread
Another good drive from Norris. Psychologically I think that was an important one. Piastri's "I only care about Norris" message shows just how the drivers are approaching the season so to make that strategy work and withstand the pressure was a strong showing from Lando.

Re: Sprints - Simple Poll
One of the bits that problematic for me is the idea that they are there to replace a FP session. I agree I would rather watch a Sprint than a FP session but it's not a fair comparison. I never watched practice sessions and didn't want any more F1 time from a weekend. Qualy and the race is fine plus ...

Re: Proposed Sprint Race weekend simple Poll
So we're a few years in with sprints and while some have provided some entertainment we still have non-events like yesterday. The format has been tweaked but for me I still find the whole thing just an unnecessary distraction. Yesterday the qualifying for the GP provided more drama. So thoughts now?...

Re: Midseason Break Polls 2025: Rank the Drivers
My biggest differences from the overall votes are Hamilton and Antonelli. Hamilton I have lower. Leclerc as a teammate now is a challenge but Lewis came in a s multiple WDC to replace a driver who was pushing and arguably matching Leclerc. Very high expectations are entirely justified and I don't th...

Re: Midseason Break Polls 2025: Rank the Drivers
So hard to know. For example the poll has Antonelli in 12th but he's right there with his vastly more experienced, embedded teammate who we have 3rd. Bit of a cop out but I think apart from Stroll, I don't think anyone is doing a bad job. Tsunoda predictably last but I'm guessing if he had stayed in...

Re: The official NICO HULKENBERG Thread
So what lies ahead for Hulkenberg as an Audi driver do you think? Well, he is certainly doing better than I expected at Sauber. I now feel being inconsistent, but with high peaks is probably better for a team like this than a driver that is usually solid but unspectacular. That's a good point. When...

I worry for Gasly. I'm a bit biased because my son is a fan. But I think an anonymous year like this will be quite damaging to his career.
