Re: The Official Pierre Gasly Thread

That was an unfortunate start for Gasly. Presumably the car wasn't right after having the nose replaced as he made no progress. Did the team just retire him from the race?

For coming out of the blocks with his elbows out, got to be Norris. He looked like someone really out to put a marker down from day 1.

Re: Official Sebastian Vettel thread

Not exactly a dream start and a bit sad to see. Not so much the pace, but the incident with Ocon and the immediate "why did he move?". Far from being a new start this was very much a continuation of the Vettel we know from the last couple of years. Hopefully it will get better.

All very odd regarding Noda. The team has clarified it's nothing to do with race/ethnicity etc but not offered any explanation as to what the reason actually was. Very strange, wonder if the truth will ever emerge.

I have just placed my first bet of the season, it seems like good odds to me... Hamilton>Bottas Max> Perez Leclerc > Sainz Vettel > Stroll The odds are, 1/2, I placed £400, could make a £800 profit if it comes in. Im not a big gambler but it just seems like a good "investment"/risk. It is points sc...

Re: Which team has the best driver pairing?

RBR v Merc is interesting. I don't think many people would say Verstappen is BETTER than Hamilton, so presumably it means Perez is considered better than Bottas. Unless people have factored in the team aspect and consider a VER/PER line up more effective overall than a HAM/BOT line up even if HAM an...

Well I changed my mind since I voted (can you change?) and now I get

Mercedes
Ferrari
McLaren
Red Bull
Alpine
Alfa Romeo
Williams
Aston Martin
Alpha Tauri
Haas

but the exercise of rating the drivers then averaging their rankings out to get the teams led me to another thread on intra-team disparity.

Which team has the biggest driver disparity?

This follows on from the rate the team driver line-ups thread. I'm not sure why you would object to prioritising performance analyses over points/results records. The latter is one of the fundamental flaws in F1 as a sport. There is a big difference between a nuanced discussion of driver performance and the mental gymnastic required to support the claim. I see...
