Re: 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread

So the Aston Martin appeal mentions that they should have 1.44l still left in the tank: https://www.planetf1.com/news/aston-martin-sebastian-vettel-dq-appeal/ It is amazing how accurate a measurement this sounds I'm having a chuckle to myself at the thought of the AM guys tilting seb's car to get t...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix

I originally went for ocon and alonso, but since learning teams could talk, and merc decided to keep lewis out and and not pit, i dont think its fair to penalise hamilton in that regard. So ill add lewis as 3rd best drive I agree he could have passed alonso quicker, but i think hamilton knew alonso...

. I've looked, and can't find anything - hence the question. What about you ? Are you happy with stewards making up regulations in the middle of a race ? . Are there any regulations that say the restart must occur as soon as the track is clear? . Red Flags are given for specific reasons, when that ...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

I'd say Hamiltons fault because he backed out but too late/ not enough, however it could be classed as a racing incident as it was 60/40

Other collisions could have happened at imola or Spain and Lewis backed out both times.

The idea that he did it deliberately... log off.

Verstappen has spent the season relying on Hamilton getting out of his way. No way that's on Lewis. Verstappen was over the top twice with his defending before that even happened. Ideal scenario for max, jump Charles.at the start and drive off, Lewis gets stuck in traffic.

Nightmare scenario for max, gets stuck behind charles/bottas, pits early, safety car ends up behind Lewis.

Obviously discounting crashes

Not Russell’s best weekend, he overreacted and touched the grass. It does, however, beg the question of Bottas yet again - why was he back fighting a Williams and not up front against the Red Bulls. Mercedes seem to have a mighty race car, I think they will leave Imola happy about the rest of the season. Quick Reaction thoughts. Lewis made a mistake at the start by not denying the inside to Max, and compounded that by trying to stick it out around the outside. Actually Bottas Could Impact the front today. It assumes that he gets a good clean getaway and the Merc has a substantial pace advantage on the cars 4th-7th, (LeClerc will be the most difficult, one would expect). Anyway if Valtteri gets up to 4th he could be right in the gap where Red Bull wants to...

Perez is starting on the soft tyres is he not? I know the merc likes the mediums but checo should have the early pace advantage assuming a clean getaway. If Hamilton leads then he'll have a dilemma, drive fast and open up the field but risk giving red bull nice gaps for the under cut. Or drive a bit...
