Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

I think it would be reasonable if the penalties were for crossing the inside line on exit, be interesting if that was in the notes. But they said speeding.

I haven’t worked out how to blame this on MBS but get rid of him!

Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

So Hadjar keeps his podium, Perez loses his point meaning Alonso gets a point. Alpine have challenged the results due to the pit stop penalties. Oh and also, Red Bull apparently have the best engine under these regulations: https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/f1-engine-upgrades-first-2026-fia-decisi...

Re: 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Race Thread

From the cool down room, it seems they took the pit in sharper to gain time.

There is precedent for a penalty, Vettel Singapore 2009. That’s because he cut over an inside line to get a shorter run and quicker time. Monaco the pit line is wide entry and narrows so someone at the FIA screwed up

Ok maybe the next race isn't the best place for that...

Ferrari actually played a blinder this race keeping Hamilton out forcing the stewards to take action (after 20 plus laps and a safety car what a joke!)

I firmly believe that they were hoping the Ferrari would retire so they could add a penalty for next race.

I don’t understand why mclaren were so pre-occupied with Hamilton, when they pitted lando they still had 26 seconds lead over Hamilton.

When Oscar came in they still had 5 seconds over Hamilton from Norris.

McLaren panicked, or worse they didn’t trust lando to make a clean overtake
