The problem here is the use of a tyre barrier. Modern circuits haven't used them for years for this reason. As far as I'm aware, all modern circuits use them for F1 races. Am I mistaken? They do. Mercedes gave away Hamilton's 3rd place by not putting him in front of Bottas. Agree, plus if they pit both drivers then Hamilton would have had more pace and the end and I doubt the initial fight with Albon happens. BBC F1 website now also suggesting 2021 rules, already delayed to 2022, are likely to be pushed back 2023.

With McLaren changing engines in 2021 & DAS confirmed as banned, any regulations limiting development are only going to come under increasing stress

Basically sounds like they found a smoking gun but can't prove it's been fired. It does question having such ridiculously complex rules that it's to difficult for the sports governing body to prove they have been broken. I can't believe that a case based on probabilities can't be constructed though...
