Re: 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Even if it was an unsafe release, I’m sure Max didn’t think it his fault when Red Bull unsafely released him a while ago, so why would this be Lance’s?

Re: 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

I guess Vettel would find himself in breach of contract if he did that, and have to pay damages to a team that seem to be rubbing salt into the wound having already told him his services were no longer required. 1 place penalty? The stewards must be feeling sorry for him after his being dropped. If ...

Re: Its Official: Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin in 2021 (merged)

Problem being there are no good seats available for Perez - unless Hamilton shocks everyone and doesn’t sign with Mercedes. The best he can hope for seems to be that Haas finally change one or both drivers (still shocked that they didn’t do it last year) but that’s not exactly an encouraging opening...

Not sure why Norris didnt get a penalty for driving to slow in the pits.
Agreed. When you hand out a severe penalty for something but let somebody else off, it does start to feel that it is contrived. A penalty for Norris would have helped Bottas I’m guessing.

Re: POLL: Hamilton/Giovinazzi penalties

I would have given it a drive through, 5 second stop-go at the very most. That would have cost them the time that the other cars would have spent pitting under normal conditions. The point of a penalty is to stop a driver gaining an advantage by breaking the rules, surely? 10 second-stop go is the m...

Feel bad for Sainz. He isn’t going to get another shot at a win where he’s headed next year either, and I genuinely believe his comment post race that he would have had 2nd on merit behind Hamilton. I also thought the first safety car was an overreaction. VSC, surely? At this point it feels like wha...

I think they both have, but I’d give Alonso a better chance at winning again of the two. Seb is far too error prone these days and far too often.

I don’t think Hamilton or anyone will be getting the Grand Slam record while the fastest lap rule remains, Hat Tricks too. He was denied another on Sunday by Ricciardo. I’m surprised Sky Sports haven’t made more of the countdown to the most wins to be honest, though judging by the commentary lately,...

Surprised that Renault withdrew it. I wonder is it a financial thing as Ferrari are the team best placed to continue if so, and appear to be the only one doing so.

Though watching Racing Point this weekend, part of me wonders if they have voluntarily made some kind of change themselves.

I didn’t think the stewarding last year was particularly great either, but now I just have the feeling that it isn’t so much about whether any rules are broken but what happens after an incident. If one car retires, the other driver involved in the incident automatically seems to get a 5 second pena...

So pleased for Hulk, but given his run of luck I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up retiring as a result of a first lap collision with Max. Sainz’s move to Ferrari for next year doesn’t look as bad this week. Wasn’t Seb on the soft while Charles was on the medium? Last year was embarrassing enough ...

I’m not surprised there is a queue of teams appealing, as someone said Renault have not won this unless 15 points happens to be the difference between them and Racing Point at the end of the season. Bottas would potentially have been a masterstroke. Proven #2 and him moving on might upset the balance at Merc and end Hamilton’s winning streak.

I’d like to see Ricciardo in there though. His time is more limited and I like the Sainz/Norris double act.

Good call from the stewards. They had to set a firm precedent. Part of me wonders whether that triggered the FIA to act. It seemed earlier that the...
